Hello,
Is it possible to develop an app where users play a game like "Who wants to be a millionaire" and compete for money? I know that there is a developer who has a string of mobile apps where this happens. The company is called "Skillz", you can play games like fruit ninja and compete against other users in small cash games. I was hoping I could discuss and describe the project a bit more before beginning.
I'm a first timer myself, but have a friend working with me who is a UI expert. So, we'd love to hear more.
First, are you familiar with the platform that "Skillz" operates under? They have a platform where users play simple games and compete against another randomized user for small cash amounts ($1, $3, $5, $10 and so on).
I want to base the approach to my app on this concept. However, I just want to have one game. I want to do a re-create of the game "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire". The concept of the game will be the same, however users will be able to play for cash-against other users. Also, there will be an free mode where the user competes for tokens. There will be a Cash Leaderboard and a Token Leaderboard. At the end of a given month, the "free" users who are in the top three positions on the Token Leaderboard will be rewarded a cash prize according to their position at the top.
If i wanted to Play-4-Cash I would simply access the "cash mode" and I would then see a screen that i can scroll through choosing the Cash amount I'd like to play for. (I will send several snapshots for reference where applicable)--
There will be different types of competition for cash within the app:
The app will generate revenue on each cash game played. For example, if a user wants to play in a (2-Player) $1.00 game, they will need to pay $0.60 to compete. If a user wants to play in a bigger (2-Player) game, he can wager $3.00 for a chance to win $5.00.
Additionally, users can participate in 4-Player games for cash. An example of this is as follows: A user will wager $1.25 to compete against 3 others for a chance to win $4.00.
We would like users to be able to place "bets" up to $15.00
Also, we would like to use the same method of rewards for non-cash (Token) games.
Example of Token bet equivalent to $1.00 game: Each user wagers 1 Token for the chance to win 2 Tokens. Etc.
There are other things that I should add, but I will let you assess what I have shown you thus far and we can proceed from there. We'd love to hear your thoughts.
Best,
Tucker
