This project is a graphic image generator with two basic pages: a control panel page and a page that displays the graphic image ultimately created. A streamlined, user friendly control panel screen will allow users to select multiple colors from a color wheel and also select ratios of these colors to each other (ie: in a pie chart form, slider bars, etc) to set the color basis for the image the application will ultimately create. Once the user selects these color variables and confirms choices, the application will produce a random image within the user’s selected color parameters.
The structure of this randomly generated image will come from existing open source javascript code that will need to be tailored and integrated to fit with the current project’s color parameter variables. Once an image is produced basic features such as zooming the image, spinning the image, saving the image and saving zoomed segments of the image, (etc.) will be essential.
Although not a programmer myself I have been working on the conceptual aspects of the project for a year and I have a basic layout of the control panel page on paper. It should not be too much work to get to the wire frame stage and I think it should be a fairly straightforward project with the right programmer(s).
User friendliness and aesthetic simplicity are key to this project. Opportunities for future iterations of similar programs are likely. The app is intended for mobile (ipad) use for user convenience; at this stage the program is intended for private rather than public use.
