I wanted to get in touch with regards to a project I'm working on with a business partner. We have spent the past few months defining a concept and we are now looking at various alternatives for developing a beta version of the application we wish to create.
In essence, we wish to create a mobile application which connects businesses with consumers with "live discounts". This will necessarily include a portal for businesses to activate discounts, and a mobile app for consumers to be informed of discounts/search for these discounts. We aim to do this via an Uber-type map GUI which shows the users location in reference to venues that are currently hosting the discount.
A very similar application exists in terms of functionality for both iOS and Android called "Wriggle", and for the sake of simplicity I would say that we require very similar functionality. The big differentiator here is that we do not require any means of payment, but rather would require our users to be able to "check in" once they have arrived at the business location, at which point they would be provided a code (either numerical or QR). We, the firm behind the software, would like to collect data on the entire process: who is taking up the offers, when they are taking the offers up, etc. Ideally users could create a profile on our mobile app via Facebook or uniquely via the app.
As a first point of reference, we would like to discuss the process for such a project and obtain a rough cost estimate. We are aware this likely involves further discussion and are happy to engage in such a discussion. We're interested in how you work, the steps involved in the process, which languages you use, how you charge, and whether or not you are wiling/able to engage in on-going partnership.
If you could have a look at the mentioned application and come back to us, this would be most appreciated. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
Please disregard the budget tab. We are first looking to find out realistically what this will cost, and therefore are not willing to indicate such a tight range without feedback from prospective developers.
