The purpose of the app is to have ice fishermen gather data on ice thickness.
The app will have a GPS function that allows the user to select from one of three choices: exact, accurate, general. Exact will be the point location where they are, accurate within a circle with 1km radius, general within a circle with a 3km radius (these circles should not be centered around the exact location, but should overlap randomly with it).
It will create a standard data entry form using the location (as mentioned above), the date, and time of day. There will be fields to enter in ice thickness (mandatory) (in metric or imperial, but requiring that the unit be chosen), and information on what fish were being caught (optional)
The goal is to have the data uploaded to a central database. All locations should include coordinates (the accurate and general selections should generate 4 points randomly, not centered on the exact location), with the idea that this information can be represented spatially.
Simple design to be used by cold fingers; should be quick to complete, and easy to read in bright conditions (think sunlight reflecting off of snow and ice), or with sunglasses on.
