Owners of a solar-energy system must have the functionality to monitor their revenues through an app available for iOS, Android and on tablets. The app has to function as an addition as we currently are able to monitor this data through internet. The data is retrieved via an inverter with a WiFi stick and translated via an API to the Internet site.
The app must show the same data as the Internet site. The app must therefore communicate with the same database and API as the Internet site. The monitoring data is refreshed every 15 minutes on the internet site, and this should also be the case for the app. In the app, users have the ability to monitor the revenue from the solar energy system through graphs. These graphs show the return of the solar energy system per day, month and year. As a bonus functionality for the application we would like to have a comparison feature: including rankings, average revenue and an ‘average revenue in your area’ sheet. We are not quite sure yet how to implement this in the app, but we are open for ideas.
Same as on the Internet site, users need a login to use their personal data. For this, they could use the same account. Another feature that the app should have is the ability to send push messages. These push messages will only be received when the solar energy system does not work properly. Before the start of development we would like to see some designs, so we get a proper feeling of the different functionalities and the ‘style’.
