The next Microsoft mobile devices operating system is Windows 10, and it's crossplatform. ¡One OS to rule them all!

Not always, some apps do debut first on Windows Phone. Just like how some debut first on Android, and not iOS, or how some debut first on iOS and not Android.

Every app I used on iOS/Android is available on WP. Some are even better, thanks to pivot control, modern UI, etc. But it all depends, of course, on how much effort the developer puts into it.

Let’s not forget, Android was in this same position before…and apps were horrible (if they ever came over from iOS…remember Instagram fiasco?). Even now, dev’s will spend more time polishing their iOS apps instead of Android.

As far as apps, you may need to change your last commend…iOS is finally behind Android who surpassed the iOS App store recently with more apps (finally)
