Our society is definitely moving towards Mobile devices more than Desktop devices and it has bought a lot of changes along with it like Mobile First Approach while developing a Website. However, We think mobilizing the internal process for employees can be a challenging in the following ways:

The sheer number of mobile devices, coupled with the Internet of Things, is putting strain on servers and the speed at which they can transmit data
Supporting multiple platforms would be costly
The popularity of mobile computing means that enterprise apps must be designed with the user experience firmly in mind and not as an afterthought.

However, even if it's costly, maybe the combination of using both a mobile and a desktop device may hold the key
