I find the most interesting the part about research. Many developers skip that part and they don't know, that they're making something that already exists (or is very similar to their idea) until it's too late.

Developers should jot down the key points and should acknowledge after every phase sop that if the changes are required the developer doesn't have to waste time and can directly look over the issue.
I guess one of the biggest issues when it comes to app developers that when an entrepreneur thinks, that his idea is great and solves some real issues but those issues bother... only him.
You need to check your app idea potential wider than just among your friends and family.
Either way - you will end with an app with 0 downloads and believe, there are much more of them than you think.
