How's the future of blockchain in the gaming industry?

on Blockchain Developers at Jan 24, 2018 11:25

As the cryptocurrency value rises again after the heavy falls, blockchain technology has become really trendy these last days. On AppFutura, we have thought about what would happen if blockchain was implemented on mobile app development. Would mobile app development companies adopt the technology and would users of an application use it?

Blockchain is important as it has become the base of the cryptocurrencies. Considering the notorious volatile trend this kind of currencies have, as they don’t have a fixed value, would somebody use cryptocurrencies as a payment method for offshore app development projects?

With all these doubts open, we have decided to start working on an article about blockchain technology which will be soon published on AppFutura's blog. Moreover, since cryptocurrencies are quite a common topic, we have decided to go for blockchain in the mobile gaming industry. What kind of benefits could integrating blockchain on a mobile game have? Would this be the solution to the most common problems users experience with digital goods?

Not only the Real estate and Education industry, the gaming industry is also experiencing a drastic shift with the introduction of Blockchain technology. Various companies like Valve and Gameflip have already started accepting and making bitcoin payments, while others are looking forward to leveraging the benefits of ‘technology of trust’.
Here I have found a blog about Blockchain’s influence on Video gaming industry: https://blog.enjincoin.io/12-ways-block ... 9a4adb2f58 .
Hope it helps you anyhow.

As we said on the previous post, we have published an article about What is blockchain and how can we use it on mobile games?. On the article you will read about the decentralization method blockchains use and how they interact between the nodes.
Also, we have mainly focused the article on the opportunities blockchain in the gaming industry could have. Talking about digital goods and the benefits of not having all the information centralized. Always taking into account the benefits of the validation process, which is also used as the base of the darknet.

Blockchain technology is set to become the next big thing in the industry and may cause huge disruptions in the way developers and gamers interact and access their games and the digital assets attached to the games. The progressive attitude of the gaming industry towards new technologies makes blockchain exploration for gaming quite a natural fit. This is why it is noteworthy to explore the potential of blockchain for gaming, early and head -on.

Well, In my opinion, the future is quite bright. It is now a rapidly developing area, so I'm sure we're to see what will be next. I know that instaforex review is now interested in this direction, and I know this company as one of the best (in means of quality and attitude to a customer).

Blockchain’s revolutionary potential reaches far beyond the financial sector. The gaming industry, ever-hungry for change, is now embracing blockchain – and the new technology looks set to disrupt the $100 billion global industry.
Several experts have recently claimed that blockchain has the potential to completely restructure the gaming industry. The technology can turn the tables on the monopolistic console market, create a multiverse, and make games more immersive and boundary-blurring than ever.
Currently, Blockchain Technology offers a number of other solutions to the gaming industry:

  • Granting immutable ownership of in-game items, solving item theft due to hacking and the sale of fake in-game assets.

  • Tying assets to players instead of games, thereby protecting time/money investments players have made, irrespective of developer decisions.

  • Protecting players from undesirable actions on the part of creators; players can take the wheel, extending game longevity and encouraging user content. (Virtual reality game Decentraland is a promising example.)

  • Restoring trust between game developers and distributors by recording sales on a blockchain.

  • Creating a decentralized distribution network for games.

  • Creating more realistic economic systems within games.

  • Shifting the definition of a successful game away from revenue and toward in-game currency value, thereby refocusing game development efforts to benefit players.

  • Incentivizing players by offering dividends and granting them a vote in development processes.

  • Fixing the high-cost, low-revenue problems of cloud gaming initiatives (like Sony’s PS Now) by distributing the server over a blockchain network.

  • Encouraging game development competition outside of the monopolistic console and game-publishing industries.
