Android Wear 2.0 is going to be released soon. And the good news is that the new system will support standalone apps. Actually, there are already 3 such apps: Glide, Foursquare and Lifesum. Source: http://www.digitaltrends.com/wearables/ ... lone-apps/

I didn't know but it seems there are some bugs in the Android Wear 2.0 version that is preventing the company to release new devices with the new OS.

Did not know about it either, but it explains a lot!
Google's been talking about Android Wear 2.0 for a looong time...
I liked one quote especially, it feels so diplomatic:
"Google isn't technically late, it's just taking a bit longer than planned"
Well, I hope it will appear to be worth the waiting!

iPhone owners are also being benefited from Android Wear 2.0. Why? Standalone apps! An iPhone user can install apps like Uber, Starva etc. without the need of a connected device.

There are more Standalone apps in the list now:

Bring!
Google Fit
Robinhood

and more!

Android Pay also on the list, nice. Maybe someday it will be completely normal to pay for everything using your watch.
Great move Google! And nice from your side, to not close yourself entirely before Apple users.
