Third-party stores such as Alibaba and Tencent are predominant in the gigantic market of China preventing Google Play store and Apple’s app store from spreading their wings far and wide. Also, Apple has restricted certain iOS app developers by forcing them to pull off their apps from the Chinese app store to please Government censors. Hence it is expected that Google’s presence will be limited as far as China market is concerned. Currently few sources have claimed that talks are going on between the search engine and Chinese internet veteran NetEase to permit launching of Google Play store in the country, offering the much-needed business ally to overcome the intricacies of the government. Few compromises are required on the part of Google yet both the parties are not verbal about this. But this goes without any doubt that such a step can open up a wider market for Google through app development cooperation with China.
