Agriculture stands out as a highly strategic sector to drive inclusive wealth creation in Africa. It is however riddled by multiple gaps that drive inefficiencies and result in below-par performance. The EBAgroPampoja application comes in to bridge these gaps in a manner that unlocks enterprise opportunities. A first of its kind, EBAgroPamoja connects the dots along Kenya’s agro-value chains to unlock opportunities across multiple sectors & disciplines. It leverages on the virtual space to engage multiple actors and create opportunities along the agro-value chain by linking gaps along the continuum with solutions providers across multiple sectors external to agriculture. This unlocks business opportunities that can be tapped by actors of multiple disciplinary backgrounds. Its basic premise is that challenges are disguised opportunities for solution bearers – but that these two polar opposites must be brought together. EBAgroPamoja becomes this bridge between challenges & solutions – specifically in the agro-value chain. It unlocks a holistic dimension, linking agriculture to ancillary areas of clean energy to power value addition, transport/logistics to link efficiently to markets, consumer niche markets among climate, health & environment conscious consumers who are increasing to fuel demand and training to re-tool skills among people, and especially the youth, to engage in these interrelated areas. Cumulatively, this holistic paradigm created by EBAgroPamoja is on track to reverse postharvest losses (PHLs) ~ amounting $500million in Kenya alone and convert these losses into food secure homes & enterprise opportunities across multiple sectors and provide lessons to be emulated continentally.
the system is highly interactive and user friendly – great workmanship has gone into it.
