TapFreaks: Apple have granted patents for curved display panels and embedded touch ID that goes directly under the screen. This is interesting for anyone following the rumor mill around the Apple iPhone 8.
It is must to keep in mind that it is just a granted patent and apple might not want to get it into the device soon as they are already struggling to acquire sufficient amount of AMOLED screens for the next gen iPhone (also rumors). We can all agree that these changes and technological advancement in the coming phones are much more realistic and is a step in right direction.
As for the patent, the things described is pretty much what you expect the two technologies to be used for:
A flexible substrate can be used to fabricate the display panel and/or the touch sensor panel (referred to collectively herein as a "circuit panel") of a mobile electronic device so that the edges of the display panel and/or the touch sensor panel can be bent. Bending the edges can reduce the width (or length) of the panel, which in turn can allow the overall device to be narrower without reducing the display/touch-active area of the device.
It is similar to what S8 did with the display but the fingerprint embedded straight under the display is something we are biting our apples for.
TapFreaks: Apple -via an email- told the members of appstore affiliate program that they are reducing commission.
The commission will be reduced by 64 percent i.e. 2.5% from previously 7% commission from sales. This will surely affect the partners which were already making only a little amount through referral links to app downloads. These web-sites have links to app downloads that includes special referral codes via which when a user downloads a paid app the affiliate partner gets 7% (previously). For a 1$ paid app will only give few cents to the partner.
Do you guys think that this will bring any changes for the partners or affect the number of downloads for the apps?
