The client is an independent payment system «SADAD». The company installs and maintains payment terminals in Bahrain, Russia, Philippines and Turkey. Founded in Bahrain, the company operates through over 700 terminals in the kingdom and has become its largest independent payment system.

SADAD – the company whose mission is to make the process of making bill and other payments as easy as possible, decided to develop an app for the Bahraini market that will allow users to conduct all transactions on their phones. Besides maximum security, the main criterion for the solution was integration with as many payment methods as possible.

A team at SoftTeco has developed an application with a two-step security system, an intuitive interface and lets users conduct all the payments as SADAD’s terminals. Payments can be made through credit cards, debit cards and SADAD e-wallet. Users can top up the e-wallet using the application itself or one of SADAD’s terminals.

An Android app developed for the World Bank, a member of The United Nations Development Group, for evaluating road pavement quality.

RoadLab uses accelerometers, gyroscopes and GPS to autonomously measure and evaluate road roughness on IRI scale (International Roughness Index) before sending the information to local road maintenance organizations via cellular network or Wi-Fi.

Algorithms used by the app account for vehicle’s speed, suspension type and phone’s position in order to achieve precise measurements for road pavement quality. The app starts making measurements automatically when the vehicle’s speed reaches 30km/h or it can be controlled manually. For the sake of preserving battery life and cell data, readings synchronization can be made only when connected to Wi-Fi.

Apart from the app, SoftTeco developed a web interface for road maintenance organizations that receives and analyses the incoming data and puts in on the map.

The client wanted to create an advertisement platform based on a mobile business directory. The solution was to consist of two separate applications, one for business and one for consumers.

Dubbed SPURRYme, the consumer app’s main purpose is to provide users with information on businesses in their area the same way as traditional business directories do, but within richer and more convenient environment.

With the SPURRYme app users are able to:
- Browse nearby businesses on a map or list;
- View business info, contact information and work hours;
- Add companies to favorites;
- View special offers and promotions on companies’ pages;
- Invite friends and businesses to join the platform.
- Facebook login.

SPURRYbiz app allows businesses to register with the directory, submit and edit business information and create and edit marketing campaigns. Marketing campaigns are push notifications sent out to specific target audience based on their geographic location.

Fuel Finder is a handy assistant when on the road. The application’s key purpose is to put all the gas stations on the map and show what type of fuel is sold there and what services are offered, but its functionality goes well beyond that.

The app features a comprehensive filter which helps users find a gas station with all desired services, be it a motel, a tire pump or Wi-Fi. Moreover, after finding the right gas station, Fuel Finder can lay the quickest a route to the destination using Google maps or a local map service. The app shows traffic information through the map view, which is incorporated into the route-planning algorithm, making sure that you will not end up getting stuck in traffic with an empty gas tank.

Additional features include roadside assistance contact, gas prices and automotive news. Having partnered with local roadside assistance company, users who order their services through the app get a 5% discount.

The app was designed for Kanda Software, an experienced product developer and service provider in the mobile applications market. Located in Boston, Massachusetts, the company is known for launching innovative products serving a wide range of human activities.
Intergrated with Android Wear devices such as Google Glass and Smart Watch, EatLess helps people stay on top of their diet by sending inspirational coaching tips and advice to these devices. The coaching program features a frequently updated database of fitness, dietary and lifestyle advices from professionals coaches. The app also lets users input their own messages to be displayed with a desired frequency.
The main features are:
- Get inspirational custom-designed messages to help maintain a healthy body;
- Advice delivered to your Android Wear device at random intervals to keep you motivated at all times;
- Control frequency – receive 1 to 12 reminders per day;
- Choose the desired start time and end time for coaching during the day (or during the night if working a late shift);

Designed for children from 3 to 6 years, the app is an effective and a fun way to develop your child’s visual, auditory and associative memory. The app consists of 4 game zones, a house, farm, lake and a zoo, populated by over 50 wonderfully animated animals. The game consists of learning their appearances, names, sounds and places of habitat.

Cocos2d game engine was used for converting Flash to iOS to significantly save time and development efforts.
The application supports English and Russian language.

The app made it in Top 10 free apps in the “education” category in the first week of its release in the App Store.

BSB Bank was the first financial institution in the country to provide its customers with a mobile banking app and SoftTeco was fortunate to be the company to develop it.
Being responsible for all aspects of the project, from application design to system integration, SoftTeco has been working closely with the bank’s IT, marketing and customer service departments.
Throughout the length of the project a number of additional features were added to a traditional mobile banking functionality, ensuring the app remains at the forefront of the remote banking service quality and stands out from competition.

The purpose of the game is to make a puzzle by matching the outlines of the countries’ states with their place on the map.

The game has 3 levels. The easiest level has the outlines of each state and the most significant geographical landmarks, on the second level they are displayed partially and on the third one the player should rely only on visual images to set each state on the continent.
In the settings the player can adjust additional functions like sound, show flags, physics, play anthems.

Technical details:

Game center integration. User's time is recorded in the table of records in Game Center.
Animations. The items of the puzzle are very realistic and have an effect of real presence under the glass.
Countries are a slightly gravitated to its proper place on the map, which helps to make the puzzle faster.

Emplada is an embeddable job board which can be placed on the web-site of the company, Facebook page and blog.

Facebook login is used for authentication in the app after which you can post the information on the job offers, add information about the company profile, edit your ads, or remove them.

Job applicant can follow the offers from the leading companies, apply for the selected position, recommend job, leave a comment or ask a question. User’s profile displays the basic information about him (name and photo, summary, contact information, education, work experience and recommendations).

The platform allows users to request recommendations from their Facebook and Linkedin connections or port the existing ones.

Wamba Photostream is a completely new approach for storing and displaying user profiles.

Being the largest meeting portal in Russia and Eastern Europe, Wamba was eager to bring its services to the mobile market. However, with 24 million user profiles and a million users constantly online, the company has encountered a number of technical difficulties with its previous attempts at creating a mobile client for its social platform.

That is why SoftTeco was chosen to design and integrate a lightweight solution that would provide Wamba’s users access to essential services. As a result, an app was developed that allows for rapid photo browsing and instant messaging, that is it - the stuff but not the fluff.

The client is a product line, Pivothead Video Recording Eyewear. The glasses are equipped with built in HD camera and enable user to make videos, photos and transfer them on PC or mobile app. Our team is responsible for development of desktop and mobile apps.

The desktop app is available and compatible with both PC and Mac. It provides the access to a number of settings like video modes, power savings, focus mode, face-tracking, audio recording ect. Video and audio files can be transferred to PC or mobile app.

The app lets you to control your Pivothead eyewear settings, as well as download/upload/delete/view media files from your Pivothead eyewear, DSC camera (with supporting connection to PC/Mac) and other storage devices such as USB flash drive or SD card.

User can trim and post video via mobile device, transforming Pivothead eyewear, or supported DSC camera, into a social media tool.

The main challenge in bringing a beloved flash game to a new generation of mobile device was the clients request to make it platform-independent, so as to have the ability to easily port it to Android and Windows Phone devices. In order to achieve this objective, SoftTeco’s engineers implemented the game model in C++, making the product as flexible as possible. OpenGL ES was used as a graphic engine.

The final product included an adjustment module that allows the owner to create new levels and update game properties without changing the game’s code. The result of SoftTeco’s involvement with the project was the development of the most complete tower defence gaming experience on all popular mobile and tablet devices.

SoftTeco was approached by a large European media conglomerate just before the start of the summer olympics in London seeking a company capable of developing a mobile app that would help the public follow the progress of the games.

Throughout the 16 days of competitions, the app provided live updates on the games’ schedule, medals, rankings and news through in-app videos, articles and push notifications. The app was designed with a degree of flexibility, allowing users to customize the information and the way they receive it by picking their favorite countries and sports to follow.

The main challenge of the project was to roll out a fully functional application in a very short timeframe, however, SoftTeco was up to the challenge and was happy to provide millions of fans with a great way to keep up with the tournament.

Content Mining and Analysis

The Gjethuset Venue App provides the public with the schedule of center’s events, their detailed description and the ability to purchase tickets directly within the app through integration with Dibs payment system.

The apps goal is to help the center expand its returning customer base and thus targeted the local population. One of the most effective features at achieving this goal was an option to receive purchased tickets by post, and is often used as a form of gift giving within the local community.

Released for the opening of a premium shopping center in Beijing, the app features detailed information on the center, its shops and events, as well as interactive content for the mall’s opening period.
The floorplan section included an innovative navigation feature that allows to display the users precise location within the building. Designed for making the navigation in the shopping center easier, thanks to its friendly interface, the app was easy to navigate itself. The app is integrated with the phone’s calendar and social network apps, providing a convenient way to stay on top of events happening in the mall and share that information with friends.

Main functions:

See major events and promotions with the possibility to add to the calendar. Application makes a note in a remainder and places alert-message to remind user of the event.
View floor plan and facilities on each floor with the possibility to select particular objects on the map and read their description.
Opening hours, directions.
Search function – list of all places in alphabetic order.
Select place to shop, dine and entertain with the description of each place and its location.
Game to find QR code around the center and win the prize. To enter the game the user passes authorization process via SMS code, which provides protection against spam.

When SoftTeco was approached with a chance to develop a digital wine list for some of the most well known restaurants in the United States, our team was keen to get involved and bring its expertise to the project.

The developed solution allows participating restaurant to easily update their wine lists and present them through their own custom designed interface on iPad devices. Diners get an innovative but intuitive way to navigate the restaurant's’ wine lists, receive food pairing suggestions and access to hundreds of tasting notes.

fTalk is a mobile chat for Android that allows you to chat with your Facebook friends without opening Facebook in your browser. The first time the user uses fTalk, he will be asked to authorize the app to access his Facebook account. Once this has been granted, the user can logon to Facebook chat. Login can be done either through the app or through the Facebook name and password. After login the app shows the list of user’s friends.

You can see which of your friends logged in, change your status, use emoticons and video chat. fTalk notifies you through alert windows and sounds whenever a friend comes online or logs off, or when you receive a new message. The app saves chat history on the device, which can be viewed or removed at any time.

The app is developed for the freight service providers and their clients. The client focused solution is designed to keep the client informed on the delivery status 24/7 with much easier access and extended functionality than the html alternatives have to offer.

Solution for delivery service providers allows companies to keep track and manage their fleets, gives drivers a convenient reporting and tracking tool and offers guidance in emergency situations.

The application supports two languages – French and English.

The initial solution developed by SoftTeco’s team supports Wirecard, Pago and GICC protocols. The admin console developed for the console provides an interface for configuring system’s numerous parameters and retrieving transaction statistics. The combination of the Erlang programming language and Yaws web-server ensures the system’s stable performance and allows for up to 3000 transactions per second to be processed on a single device.

The system consists of three modules:

Home Server is the system’s main server, tracking clients’ activities on two other modules: Payment Proxy and Payment Gateway, also including the licensing module.

Payment Proxy and Payment Gateway can be provisionally presented as two modules: Transaction Forwarder and Admin Console. Transaction Forwarder – system’s core set – is written in Erlang.

Admin Console is a web console that allows configuring various system’s parameters, tracking and raising statistics on traced transactions.

The use of Erlang as a programming language together with web-server Yaws ensures smart performance and stable system operation even when processing a vast amount of simultaneous transactions.
