We were required build a iOS app that allows a user to lock and unlock a device with a BLE connection.
Challenges:
1. Fill-Rite fuel pumps are not secure and anyone can walk up and pump fuel.
2. Pump owners do not have visibility into who is pumping fuel.
3. Owners need the ability to lock down their pumps when not in use.
1. Phase 1
a. Build launch, intro, account setup and login screens
b. Ensure we’re happy with the quality of work and development process.
2. Phase 2
a. A user can set-up a lock and view their list of locks
3. Pase 3
a. A user can turn locks on and off, enter transaction details, edit lock details and
other basic app functions.
4. Phase 4
a. Build a paywall and require in app purchases if a user wants to share their lock
with another user.
i. A user can send a one time use key to another person for free
ii. User can invite other users for unlimited uses if they are on a paid
subscription plan
1. 3 person account
2. 10 person account
3. 50 person account
We started with understanding the business process and what problem they were facing. Client came with proper documentations which really helped us to understand their objectives.
We defined sprints for each phase and came with testable build at the end of each sprint. We had internal QA team who made sure that build was generated as per sprint features.
We even had Hardware to test the app with in later sprints which reduced the turn around time. At the end we delivered complete product which is being used by client and his users.
They were a great team and we are continuing to work with hem on other projects. We have already started another app with them and we have 1 or 2 more waiting in the wings.
INTERVIEWED BY APPFUTURA ON JUN 01, 2017
Please present yourself and your business.
My Name is Stewart Christensen and I’m the Product Manager at GPSPRO, LLC. We’re a fleet tracking / telematics company but we also produce products for various portions of the construction and fleet industries.
Explain what your project was about.
We needed an iOS app build for Fill-Rite. Fill-Rite is the number 1 manufacturer in the world of on-site fuel pumps. These are fuel pumps used on private company equipment yards, farms, on the backs of vehicles, etc. We have created an on/off lock that prevents these pumps form being used without authorized access. We needed an iOS app to control the lock device. The app also lets a user share access to their pumps with other users, set-up new devices, etc.
Explain to what scope extend SimForm Solutions was involved in your project.
We did the following in house: UI/UX, firmware, hardware, server database, and APIs. SimForm build the iOS app that connected to the firmware and integrated with the APIs.
How did you get to meet the SimForm Solutions team and what led you to hiring them?
I use UpWork a lot and we found them through that platform. We hired them because they had acceptable reviews and a competitive price.
How was their project management?
Their product management is great. They have their own PM platform built on zoho that we are give access to and all communications and update happen in that platform. That includes bug tickets, questions, etc. There are times when it’s not clear what is happening but a simple email asking for an update is all that is needed. They work hard to be transparent and complete the work that was agreed on.
Was the project completed as expected? Was the time and the budget the same you agreed on?
Yes the project was better than expected. Simform added UX details and animations that were not part of the original scope but gave the app a very polished feel. The project took probably twice as long as expected but that is standard with software development. I was not surprised. In addition, most of the delay was on our side. We did not have all of the API completed so we delayed the project by 2-3 weeks. Despite our time overruns they did not increase the price. We did change scope a few times and they charged us for those additional scope changes but that is to be expected.
Did you find their expertise up to what you expected? Did they require any kind of training from your end to understand your product?
Our product and process was a little out of the norm so there was quite a bit of back and forth before they understood the business rules around how we wanted to connect to the BLE and all of that. We created very robust API documentation and they still needed a bit of hand holding at times but overall they were very good. Their app ui/ux development skills are very good and the product feel very polished. They are the best freelance team I have personally worked with.
Please highlight the best things of SimForm Solutions.
App UI/UX functionality. They created a pixel perfect app that followed our design exactly. Competitive price / value.
Is there anything you believe SimForm Solutions could improve on?
You can always have more communication. Sometimes we would lose a day of work because Simform would be stuck on an issue or with a bug but they would not give us enough info to understand or fix the issue. Because we were on flip flopped schedules they would be done by the time we started and we could not get clarification for another day.
We also wish they would push commits and test flight builds daily. They would often go a week between builds.
Client wanted to develop an application that would allow the users to plan their meals and nutrition intake based on their workout style, fitness target etc. The client had the wireframes ready and wanted to begin with the design phase.
The main objective was to develop an MVP that solves the core purpose of the application and the architecture should be flexible enough to easily incorporate more functionalities in future and scalable enough to handle many user requests at a time.
We designed a solution that aligned with client's vision and helped him with the design, development and deployment of his application. The application is live in iOS and Android store and have good number of daily active users.
They are definitely the best bang for the buck and I like these guys a lot.
INTERVIEWED BY APPFUTURA ON JUN 01, 2017
Please present yourself and your business.
My name is Seth Wheeler. My wife McKenzie and I are the owners of Granite Nutrition LLC. We started this nutrition business as a hobby and it remains a hobby.
Explain what your project was about.
We had Simform create a Carb cycling/Nutrient Timing calculator app to make it easier for athletes to time their meals around their workouts.
Explain to what scope extend SimForm Solutions was involved in your project.
I hired Simform to build this calculator from scratch. There are no other apps that do what my app does, so therefore I relied on them to help me create my vision. I provided very rough wireframes, and they did all of the project management, design and graphics, along with the full stack development of my ionic framework app which is a cross platform framework. They provided me a working app that is available in google play and the apple app store. I currently have Simform perform all of the update to the app as well. I am a repeat customer and I will continue to be one for a long time.
How did you get to meet the SimForm Solutions team and what led you to hiring them?
I found Simform on Upwork and they went through the interview process with me. I decided to hire them because they went over and above my expectations. Their estimate was more detailed than the competition, their English is great and they insisted on phone conversations where the competition only wanted to IM.
How was their project management?
Their project management is good and they assigned me my own project manager and development manager. I have had 7 updates on the app and every time they get done on time and on budget. It is great.
Was the project completed as expected? Was the time and the budget the same you agreed on?
Simform gets their projects done on time and on budget and they create a good product.
Did you find their expertise up to what you expected? Did they require any kind of training from your end to understand your product?
They do what I expect of them yes. I do have to train them to some extent, I still create wireframes so I can demonstrate exactly what I want. I also had to give them the formulas for the calculator. There are many formulas that go into that calculator and I didn't expect them to understand what I wanted without detailed explanation and examples.
Please highlight the best things of SimForm Solutions.
They are good communicators and they make themselves available during their working hours and sometimes after hours.
Is there anything you believe SimForm Solutions could improve on?
Sometimes I wish they were available during my working hours here in the US but I don't expect them to be available after hours, I know I wouldn't be. I do also wish they would be more intuitive to what I want but then again, I don't expect them to read my mind. I do wish they would offer up some more creative thought but then again they can't read minds.
Hide extended reviewAs more and more users started purchasing online, the result was an overwhelming number of incoming couriers for large housing and office buildings. Often the front desk executives were overburdened as they had to manage information and securely deliver the courier. The client saw an opportunity to redefine package management and internal delivery and approached Simform to build Paklog.
UX design: To simplify user onboarding the design should be very intuitive for the new and old system users
Hardware integration:The project required to integrate various digital signature pads to be compatible
Scalable architecture: Paklog required a software stack that can scale up the number of instances depending upon usage
Paklog is a package and delivery management software that helps big offices and housing units to better manage incoming couriers. The software accompanies an iOS app which works on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Using Paklog upon arrival of a parcel at a mailroom or a concierge, the front desk executive can receive it. When it’s done, all information is uploaded and email or SMS notification is sent for the final delivery.
A user expecting final delivery can then either pick up the parcel from the front desk or can schedule a pickup using the mobile app. The final delivery can be confirmed by digital signatures that can be taken either by a digital signature pad or a mobile device.
I was seeking a company that understood mobile app development and someone who could very quickly convert a client server app into a web / mobile application. Simform provided a quality development team that understood exactly what I need done. They developed the apps and converted the application into a web application with minimal involvement from me. They understand that small businesses do not have the resources or the time to spend with the developers so they use their own business analyst to understand my businesses and provide the very best user friendly solution.

Looking for an experienced developer to help with an initial proof of concept for an app. The app would be synced to a temperature device inside a vehicle using blue tooth. The app would sync up automatically to the blue tooth device. Users would log in once with an email. There needs to be an area where emergency contacts can be added. A contact page for our company. A place for a picture to be added. This app will include an equation for a temperature variation which sets off alarms once a certain temperature is reached. Also, If the temperature rises 'X degrees' in X amount of minutes. If blue tooth is out of range the app would send an alarm for this as well. Once the first version is complete, we are looking to modify this app for multiple functions, including motion sensor, camera, gps tracking, heart rate monitor and internal temperature. If you are able to help with the vision of this app, we would like to see you take the next steps with us in developing the future versions of it.
Identify need of the product
Finalising hardware for the prototype
Develop iOS app with minimal feature to validate the hardware
Develop iOS app with core feature for beta testing
Develop clone of iOS app in Android platform
We started with researching on the hardware part of the project. As we were supposed to start from scratch, we had to have a hardware with GSM module which can directly send the temperature readings to the cloud. So we finalized the LinkIt one for that and build the prototype with that.
After that we started design of the app and later development in iOS. We delivered mid demo to client so that they can test the app as well as the hardware.
When we had completed the all the feature development work released the beta version with client so that they can test full fledged app.
Simform Solutions was able to take our idea from concept to a tangible prototype. They were able to strategize, formulate and execute our idea efficiently, while keeping us up-to-date the whole way. We look forward to continuing our work with them as we grow our product for the future.

It wasa great to work with Simform. They are available anytime and we could communicate regularly. The project that included a mobile app and a web was great and they extended their support for free for one extra month. I highly recommend them.
Simform developed the HelpMeOrder iOS app for the cleint.
The mobile app offers the best dishes so people at restaurants can vote for them and for their favourite restaurant. It also helps them find the nearest restauran.
HelpMeOrder has Google maps integration and a rating system for the dishes. It has also a database of menu details.
Simform was flexible and understood all the changes I wanted to make, they communicated very clear with my team.
Simform developed an Android app for homework planning.
The app allows users to organize their lives (students mostly).
The homework planner has a timetable and sends reminders to the users. It is a multipurpose product with tasks, in app purchase options and premium features.
Simform worked hard to learn the relevant technologies and complete the project in a perfect way. Usually, in this type of projects, mobile app development companies or freelances would ask for more money or re-quote it, but Simform didn't and they delivered the project as I wanted. From the beginning to the end, Simform took care of everything in a professional way. I will for sure hire them in future projects.
