The client for this project was from Bahrain and they wanted us to build a mobile app for both Android and iOS platform that would help advertise their real estate business , a unique master-planned development. The client wanted the app to have the following features: - View Developments and project information- Interactive project masterplan- Augmented reality virtual locations- Latest news- Browse available properties- Inquire to receive more information- Live camera feeds- Access your property dashboard- And more!The backend of the apps was developed using the SOAP APIs and XML. For the front end in Android KSOAP Library and Async task for network operations were employed. For the iOS app, we used the Swift with ARkit. The final product met the clients requirements in every little detail and they were quite happy to have chosen us as their app development partners. We expect them to be working with us in many more projects.
I was extremely happy with both the process and end result. The developer was extremely professional, and delivered a high quality product on time and on budget.
Our Challenge for this project was to work with the code that was originally developed by other
developer, There were many things which were missing and incorrect. We needed to steer
some previous work and setup it to meet client’s requirements. One major challenge was to
integrate one third party tool which was completely new for me (with real time Updates).
Client was concerned about notification and auto posts management when user scalability
increased quickly. He was not sure that we would be able to reach his expectations without
using third party services. Client wanted caching on App end which was tricky as there were
complex relationships formed as data was not coming from single response. Client was very
strict about perfection of the functionalities.
The client wanted to create an app on iOS platform where health quests are represented in the
app. These quests have dedicated screen called HQ Wall where a user who has joined the
quest have access to all the features of the quest like mission cards, challenges, ebook links
and other reading articles submitted by quest coach/host. Other major feature include social
activity on HQ Wall like adding a new post, commenting a post, like a post, tagging other quest
players in posts or comments. For every new social activity user has to notified, giving user real
time updates of what is happening in the quest. To increase user engagement and enhancing
user experience a gamification system was implemented which reward users with points
according to his/her actions. Checking out from a HQ (within the checkout period specified) after
it ends makes user’s scores/points of that quest credit to the global score which every user can
see on the profile screen of the user (information like number of played HQs till date, sum of
points earned in all the HQs, sum of missions completed in all HQs)
A screen called HQ Repository was to be made where a user can join any HQ from a list of
HQs. Every HQ has different characteristics like thematic and duration. Restrictions was to be
imposed for users according to the dates of joining, start and end date of a HQ, public or private
(where only the invited users could only join) HQ.
User needs to create his/her profile after signing up. Profile page includes information like
username (unique name by which user is recognised everywhere in app), profile picture, bio,
status, location, expertise. User could use facebook connect option for signing up in app or via
magic link i.e. passwordless method for sign in/sign up in the app. There were total of three
types of roles in this project: User, Host and Admin. Any user can make a request from app to
become host. Then decision lies with admin to accept or reject the request. If admin accepts the
host request, user is notified giving him access to host panel where he/she can create Health
Quest (HQ) and publish them so that app users can participate in them. Admin at any time can
turn any user to host or vice versa from admin panel.
User can join health quest (HQ) via a referral program which tells user to invite X number of
users to join a quest. This referral link is a deep link which points other users to the content
inside the app (a HQ in this case which user is about to join). Taping on the link takes user to
the appstore (if user has not installed the app and after installing the app user sees the invite
content) or to the screen where user can see the invite content i.e to which health quest user is
invited and from who invitation came from
The project also required a blog section where different articles are displayed classified
according to thematic so that user can directly jump into the stuff related to his thematic goal.
A separate history section was to be made where user can see his/her participated health quest
according to its status (ONGOING, UPCOMING, OVER & HOSTED (for host only) ).
Smart way of handling complex tasks and hard work made this We did vigorous testing as
many things like gamification system, ranking, autopost and notification was the core solution
for the challenges as this makes app more engaging.
Our communication was very active which made things easier as the feedback provided by
client was also a accelerating process in developing this project.
Optimization of wall section made user experience very smooth and did not affect the
performance of the app. HQ wall was the place where all the social activities of users, host and
admin were seen to quest players.
Backend developer came up with a solid plan for real time updates for app which did not even
required third party services for it.
