Challengera is a web application aimed at a vast number of users. This put high demands on user friendliness and accessibility - both in terms of the site being intuitive as well as accessible through different and outdated browsers.
Since the users would also visit the site via smartphones and tablets, the decision was made to create a completely responsive design in order to make the service enjoyable on all platforms.
Red Onion also developed all backend for the application as well as backend for administration systems for Challengera to better monitor the events and history of their service.
Since Challengera expected many of its users preferring to use their service through smartphone applications, we created the Android application in addition to the mobile adapted version of the website. Some of the useful features included in the Challengera app are sending challenges to friends from your contact list as well as using the phone camera pictures and videos for upload.
Some of the key values Challengera wanted to convey was for the service to be engaging, thrilling and fun. We got the opportynity to work with Challengera from the very start, to help establishing their unique brand in terms of visual strategies.
WHAT IS CHALLENGERA?
Challengera is a social network that enables you to have real-life experiences with your friends and to share those wih the rest of the world.
For the Nordic DVD-release of the Paramount movies “Shrek Forever”, “Iron man 2” and “How to train your dragon” Red Onion produced mobile web pages on behalf of Micromarketing. The purpose of the web pages was for users to be able to read about and see trailers of the movies.
The specific reason that made Paramount chose mobile web pages as their marketing channel was that they wanted the information to be very easily accessed. Links to the mobile web pages were printed in the form of QR tags on the promotional items. By using the quick links on the posters, users could easily find and take part of the content while on the go.
UI AND DESIGN
Apart from access to certain film material and images used for press and promotional items, Paramount relied on Red Onion to design the user interface and general theme of each mobile website so that it would be in line and match the corresponding movie.
Since the dvd releases are finished, the live sites are no longer up.
As a supplier to Micromarketing we set up web and mobile campaign for Taco Bar, Sweden’s largest restaurant chain offering mexican food. Taco Bar wanted to launch a campaign to promote their restaurants in the Stockholm area. They chose to do this by creating a competition for their customers.
For Taco Bar, it was essential that customers would be able to easily participate in the contest, in most cases in the restaurant while they were waiting to be served or right after they had finished their meal. It was very important that every step in the process of participating in the contest would be easily understood and quickly executed.
MOBILE WEB + ADMIN INTERFACE
Red Onion created a mobile website where customers could easily leave their competition entries. When purchasing a meal, customers received a code and a link to the mobile web to participate in the campaign. On the mobile web they had to correctly answer a series of questions in order to participate in a raffle for a trip. The campaign managers at Taco Bar were able to oversee and effortlessly administer the contest via a web-based admin interface.
As the campaign was available on customers' mobile phones as soon as they waited for their food in the restaurant, the campaign had a great turnout. Since the campaign is finished, the app is no longer avaliable online.
Berazy is a factoring agency allowing their clients to easily send invoices either automatically in e.g. a web shop as well as create them in an online web form or even on the go via mobile apps.
During this project, we built smartphone apps and mobile web as well as developed all backend needed to connect these apps to the Berazy server.
The applications were nominated to Cut The Wire Awards 2011, a Swedish award for developers and companies that produce or use mobile services.
