A Red Herring Top 100 Global winner, Transterra Media is a digital marketplace that provides international and local media outlets access to character driven, in depth news and feature storytelling from over 4000 contributors located around the world. The platform is used by the largest news networks in the world, including BBC, Vice, Time Magazine, CNN, Al Jazeera, NBC, The Guardian, Sky News, CBS and many more.
Netguru team was responsible for building the Android from the ground up. This free application lets contributors create or log into their profile, upload photos, and videos and manage the media there. Descriptions, titles and other story metadata are added during the upload process. All the information added on the app is synched with the Transterra Media web platform.
Apart from the usual elements like backend integration through Rest API, we implemented Google Authenticator, a 2-Step verification for mobile apps to increase the app’s security. Our mobile devs also created a solution to flawlessly send media files to Amazon S3.
