Thermo Scientific Pierce needed a lab tool to allow researchers to download, modify and execute their proprietary workflow procedures. So we built them an iPhone app, Protein Research Protocols, complete with a built-in library manager, a protocol download queue, and a timer system that can take cues from that library to make sure no delicate reaction runs too long. None of that would be half as useful, however, without the companion desktop site we made–one that allows users to subscribe, create and share their own protocols within a growing community of knowledge
