I'm Anna and I'm the CEO at Rely, an instant messaging app for deskless workers.

Explain what your project was about.

We wanted to create a MVP of our product as fast as possible. The product consisted of a React Native chat app, a backend and a web version for admins.

Explain to what scope extend BrainMobi was involved in your project

The product definition (product backlog with all user stories, plus designs of all screens) was done by us up front. Brainmobi was in charge of coding and testing everything.

How did you get to meet the BrainMobi team and what led you to hiring them over other candidates you were considering?

We discovered Brainmobi on Appfutura and we checked their reviews in this marketplace and also on Clutch and other portals. They looked reliable, based on reviews. When we talked to them, they committed to a given deadline, methodology and delivery.

How was their project management?

Really poor. The milestone plan was delivered 3 weeks after signing the contract. We had asked for biweekly deliveries of fully functional code and this simply never happened. The milestone plan was so poorly planned that they ended up delivering milestone 1, 2 and 3 altogether due to dependencies between back and frontend. When they finally delivered, 2 and a half months after starting, the quality was so bad that in the first 3 UATs we couldn't fulfill a complete user workflow.

What was the budget range quoted for this project?

20K USD

Was the project completed as expected?

No, we had to cancel it by mid-August, two and a half months after starting, because the release of the first phase of the project was full of bugs and it looked more reliable to start all over with another vendor than to keep working with them.

Was the time and the budget the same you agreed on?

The budget was as agreed. But the deliveries were systematically late. By the time we decided to stop, they had delivered 19% of the features having consumed 59% of the time.

Did you find their expertise up to what you expected?

They had good ideas from a product perspective, and they made interesting suggestions. But the quality of the code was extremely bad.

Did they require any kind of training from your end to understand your product?

All user stories were delivered in a 20-page document on day 1. Therefore, everything was already defined from the very beginning. And all designs of web and app were also provided. So it was really easy for them to understand. However, we were surprised to see that the product had not been coded as required (i.e. a given form is detailed with a given set of fields in the user story, but the coded form has totally different fields and validation criteria).

The team was nice.
They had some valuable ideas. They were available on Skype.
The sales process was really good because they told us what we wanted to hear. The problem was that they did not keep their word afterward.

Is there anything you believe BrainMobi could improve on?

Committing to what they signed on contracts, improving the quality of the code delivered and keeping their word.

Is there anything else about your experience with BrainMobi that you would like to share?

They say they work in an agile manner, but they don't. We asked for biweekly deliveries of fully functional code and they never delivered. Even at the end of our relationship they still couldn't do a demo of a stable version of the product. They had to merge the delivery of 3 milestones due to dependencies. They might use post-its at the office, but they definitely don't know how to work in an agile manner. Or at least, they haven't shown this ability to us, even if it was one of our key pre-requisites.

DermaMatrimony.com is a matrimonial site for people with chronic skin issues, such as vitiligo, psoriasis, albinism, burn, scar, and other skin issues.

They handled everything since the beginning of the project. They had divided the project into different sprints. They had done the project analysis during where they created several mind maps and prototypes for the website and presented them to us. After, when the analysis was completed and flow is freezed from our side, they put the project on design phase in which their designers converted the raw design into beautiful and stunning designs. Thereafter they started the development of the project.

How did you get to meet the Brainmobi team and what led you to hiring them?

Since there are plenty of app development companies in India, finding a reliable partner was a difficult task for me. So I decided to browse on social media and other app review portals like AppFutura to find a new start-up in the field of mobile app development. I contacted many of my friends and colleagues and asked them to suggest me a good company. I made a list of app development companies and in the meantime we discovered BrainMobi. Thereafter, I called BrainMobi and discussed my idea with their business team and asked them to send me a proposal along with hourly rates and the cost. They were involved from the beginning. I gave them the idea of my project and their team worked on it fully. Website designing, development, support and maintenance they handled everything so well or in a very organized manner.

They had divided the project into different sprints: analysis milestone, design milestone, various development, and testing milestone. Each sprint was scheduled to be delivered on different dates. Every time, their team discussed everything with us. They were Skype, Basecamp and JIRA for project communication and management.

What was the budget range quoted for this project?

BrainMobi has given me quotation of around USD $45,000 including analysis, design, development, testing, 2 months support and maintenance and deployment.

Was the project completed as expected? Was the time and the budget the same you agreed on?

Of course, that was actually the best thing I encountered with BrainMobi. They delivered the project on time. Although they were charging high, we agreed to close the deal in USD $30,000. We are also in discussion with their team to launch an Android mobile app.

Did you find their expertise up to what you expected? Did they require any kind of training from your end to understand your product?

If you are asking about their team expertise, then I must say that they have a very nice team who are well experienced on working with the latest technologies. Their team understood my business idea in the very first meeting and we then started the brainstorming session to figure out the feasibility of the product and discussed monetization strategies. They also suggested several new features that we have implemented during the development of the product. I was involved with them at every step from analysis to design, development, and development of the product.

The best part of BrainMobi is that they were using very easy-to-use methods and channels for communication. Their team developed the product in a manner as if they were developing a product on their own. The most interesting thing is that I can reach out to them anytime when I needed. They treated me quite openly, that is what I liked about them.

Is there anything you believe Brainmobi could improve on?

Well, everyone needs a bit of improvement in their work. But if we talk about BrainMobi, there is nothing that I want them to strongly improve. I am very much satisfied with their work. Although, I'd want them to improve the deliveries of their development sprints. Everything else is fine.

Explain what your project was about.

My project was basically a website where people could see the top 10 companies in various categories according to our team of researchers. Top 10 lists have always been a field of interest of mine, which is why I thought of getting this website built, helping people in finding the right company for their business.

BrainMobi was involved in pretty much the whole project. I had come to them with a simple idea, and they refined it into a product that I could actually reach out to the audience with. From refining the idea to delivering the website, they were involved in every step.

I was looking for web development companies who could build my website as well as guide me about what I should have on the website and what I shouldn’t. So basically, I needed a firm that could help me with development as well as consultation. Impeccable. Every member of their team coordinated so well(with me and with each other) that the two months the project lasted felt like two weeks. Every step was very smooth and I was guided through all the steps without any problem.

Once again, they exceeded my expectations. I honestly thought that they were just a mobile app development company due to which they would be bad at web designing, but their team was awesome and made the product without having to guide them much.

They were very organized and kept their word when it comes to deadlines, specially with replying to emails and responding to any query, and since I don't have much experience with app development, they explained everything to me and they were very cooperative.

Honestly the project was beyond expectation. They had many suggestions and improvements to the idea I had and I went with most of what they suggested, and yes the project budget and time were the same as what we initially agreed on.

I’m Jan Anton, CEO and Founder of Millie's Gelato app. We already have an existing user-base but now by having mobile apps, we are helping our customers to browse and order products on the go. And we can also keep them updated with the new offers and products.

Explain what your project was about.

Millie’s gelato is a vegan gelato. And we have developed an app to help users get the details about the Millie’s Gelato online through the app and eventually order, too. Through the app we can easily reach out our user-base and can also keep them updated with the new arrivals and offers.

Explain to what scope extend Brainmobi was involved in your project.

BrainMobi were able to pick up and take on a lot of that pre-planning. I just explained them what exactly I was looking for and they took it from there. They then proceeded to design, code, test and successfully launched the app.

How did you get to meet the Brainmobi team and what led you to hiring them?

I found them through Google search. They were rated appreciably well among multiple development companies marketplaces and lists. We were comfortable with the initial proposal they shared with us from all angles including the estimated cost, project timelines and schedule and proposed team structure.

There were a couple more that we liked too. Therefore, we conducted interviews in order to narrow down to the right team to work with. Post interviews and a few initial meetings, BrainMobi gave us the confidence to proceed with. Their quick understanding of our business objective, skilled team, past experience and delivered projects and, last but not the least, their collaborative attitude towards their customers to help them become successful clicked us.

How was their project management?

The project management team was at work throughout the project cycle in order to ensure that the project remains on schedule and gets completed within the acceptable timeframe and cost. They acted as a perfect liaison between me and the whole team of designers, developers, testers and support folks. They ensured
effective communication between me and the offshore team and helped setting the right expectations with all stakeholders.

They did a great job on the project management side from listing all functionalities needed and then on to the actual work.

Even when working with local developers, there is always communication gaps. That is always the challenge in any offshoring project. It was a challenge at first, but they did a great job to clarify we were all in the same page. Whenever there was a gap in communication, they would always take responsibility and rectify it so we could move forward. That is a huge thing.

Was the project completed as expected? Was the time and the budget the same you agreed on?

Largely yes. For the major part of the project lifecycle, things went as expected – that is within the expected timeframe and as per the schedule. Though, a couple of complex scenarios in some modules required an extra effort of R&D, which took some extra days of efforts that weren’t planned. But, I would say their R&D team helped us to great extent and worked in close collaboration with the project team in order to ensure that we arrived to a quick and effective solution that was implemented. It looked totally
understandable to me as there are always a few things that will skew the initial estimation – this is how product development cycle seems to work.

Like I did, one should have an open mind to get the best delivered rather than compromising with something mediocre.

Such things will always bring a trade-off – be on schedule always or get the most effective and sustainable solution to challenge.

From the cost perspective, I was charged only a nominal price for the R&D effort, which I was happy to pay for as I got the module delivered just right way.

Did you find their expertise up to what you expected? Did they require any kind of training from your end to understand your product?

I would say they did not really need any extra training. For the major part of the development and support cycle things went on smoothly and as expected. The team members that I came across throughout the project lifecycle were highly capable and knew their job at hand – be it developers, designers or project management team. Yes, there were a couple of highly complex modules that were involved for which the team took comparatively longer time but the team pulled it off by deploying the right R&D resources at the right time.

Please highlight the best things of Brainmobi.

The obvious things are that the team comprises a bunch of adept professionals. The management has a focused approach to attain customer satisfaction that helped me get my job done the right way. Each team member has a sense of accountability and an attitude add value wherever possible. If I were to highlight one phrase to describe the best attribute of the BrainMobi team, it will be “an accountable team dedicated to add value collaboratively”.

Is there anything you believe Brainmobi could improve on?

It would have been immensely helpful to me if I had access to their team locally, which would have been possible if they had an office overseas.

Is there anything else about your experience with Brainmobi that you would like to share?

They have even helped us with smooth upgrades and minor releases, which include not only a few residual non-severe bug resolutions but also enhancements making the product better. To date, I have faced no difficulty in having access to BrainMobi for any post go-live support as the team is highly responsive and complies with the appropriate turnaround time for any resolution – technical, operational or related to hand-over.

Seeing their continued responsiveness and professional attitude, I am confident that soon I will be able to kick-off phase 2 of the product with them.

Brainmobi was instrumental in the project. They designed the front end of the application and also acted as a pivot for the all round development by other teams and co-ordination.

A common known person who they hired as sales person. The initial meeting with Amit and Sunny, the directors of the firm. They came across and warm and down to earth people who had an aim.

How was their project management?

The project was managed well. Though there were scopes of improvements in terms of having a stronger team build the product which could have saved some valuable time, effort and money. However, both the founders were readily available whenever there was any issue.

What was the budget range quoted for this project?

The initial budget quoted and final cost of project were vastly different. But that was mainly due to some change requests that were brought in as the project progressed. I believe the change requests could have been cheaper, but still, it was managed amicably and in good spirit.

Was the project completed as expected? Was the time and the budget the same you agreed on?

The project has been completed as per my expectation. However, the time and budget have both exceeded my expectations. But I would not blame Brainmobi completely. I guess it happens with startups where, requirements change or get refined with time. What matters is that they were by my side all through.

They took the training and understood what was required well. They had expertise in most areas that was required. But there is always a scope for improvement with everyone!

They are promising and believe in what they are doing. They are good with team building and the owners take personal interest in ensuring that things are delivered to the best of their capability.

Technical expertise. APP building involves technical expertise in several domains. To cover all is impossible for any organisation, but I feel that there is still scope for adding team members from different domains such as JAVA and web developement. That would enable even bigger projects being built with ease inhouse .

My project was basically a website for my company for everyone to know about it. The website had to include information about my company and the services we provide. BrainMobi was actively giving suggestions about ways to improve the website and the overall experience. I must say, the UI/UX team is very impressive. My requirements with the UX were clear in my head but communicating the idea was difficult. The UI/UX team, however, understood the idea well and gave me exactly what I wanted out of the site. The whole BrainMobi team was completely involved in the project, and it is perhaps because of this reason that I received the website on time.

I had researched a lot about web development companies on quora and it was during one such research that I found BrainMobi. I talked to their sales team and found out they weren’t far so I talked to them in-person and I was so impressed by the way they understood my needs that I hired them.

The project came out better than expected. OnTime got its website on time with the same budget we had agreed on from the very beginning even though a number of unforeseen additions were made to the website to make it look better.

I guess the website itself speaks for BrainMobi’s expertise. It certainly matched my expectations. They didn’t require any kind of training from my end to understand my product. In fact, I was surprised a few times that they understood exactly what I meant.

The best things about BrainMobi is the ease of communicating ideas and timely. Their team almost always knew exactly what I had meant by saying something and worked accordingly.

It wasn’t a problem for me to directly come over to their development center to discuss my idea at every step of development, but I suppose that other clients might face problems coming. It would be really good if they could have multiple development centers so that people have a choice of which development center to visit.

Did I mention that they provided me with the written content for my website? When they developed the website, I needed help with the content to be shown on the website. This information was given to me by BrainMobi. Thus, the website I received was complete in all regards.

My project was basically a revenue cycle management app for hospitals and healthcare centers. There were a few requirements that I had for the revenue cycle management app. It had to have claims submission, payment posting, claim management, eligibility verification for insurance, appointment management, coding and charge capture, billing and collection. These were the basic requirements that we expected BrainMobi to deliver in the app. And BrainMobi exceeded our expectations.

The whole team of BrainMobi was proactively involved throughout the project. To start with, the business analysis team did a great job of grasping the concept in no time and giving me the best possible plan with all the options that I could add to my app to make it better. The developers made all of the plans possible right on time.

I found them through their posts on Twitter. I asked a few of my friends about them and they encouraged me to work with BrainMobi. So, taking heed of their advice, I went ahead and talked to the sales team and I discussed the idea. They not only understood the idea, but also suggested improvements wherever necessary. That is rare since most developers work strictly on the requirements given by the clients.

Their project management was highly satisfactory. The teams worked well in sync with each other. I could directly contact the teams I wanted to contact and the other teams would stay updated without me informing each team separately. The fact that I received the project right when I wanted it would be enough to prove my point. It was the excellent project management which enabled my project to be ready at the right time.

The project was completed better than I expected. The BrainMobi team worked well and the resulting app that I got was highly appeasing. The time and budget didn’t remain the same since there were some additions in the initial plan. A few modules were to be added to it, so the time and budget increased. The extra time and money invested was well worth it. I am highly satisfied with the quality of service and the timeliness of delivery of the project that I received from BrainMobi.

I found their expertise live up to my expectations. There wasn’t any special kind of training from end. All I had to do was explain the basic idea of my product and they told me what could be done to make the idea into an app. They suggested a lot of improvements in the process and I had the option to choose which improvements I would like to include in my app. They understood every single requirement of mine properly without having to repeat my requirements again and again.

Is there anything you believe BrainMobi could improve on?

Yes. After the app was made, I would have appreciated if there was a digital marketing solution available with them. Once the app is made, it needs to be marketed, and I guess that was missing. The overall experience was good nevertheless. I’ve heard that they’ve started with digital marketing solutions now.

I really liked the UI/UX team. They were always coming up with new ideas about how the look and feel of the app would look better. Line Guru provides notifications for live matches and breaking news, superfast scores and ball-by-ball commentary. The app also provides schedules of upcoming matches and extensive coverage of all IPL, T20, Test matches and other major cricket tournaments across the world.

BrainMobi developed the project from scratch. From wireframing, to design, to development, they handled everything so well. They app is currently on Android only and I am already in discussion for iOS app with them.

Basecamp for project management, JIRA for bug fixing and tracking and Skype as our regular communication channel. They also shared daily build reports.

They delivered the project in specified time and budget. They divided the project into different milestones and created a total of 5 milestones. Each milestone was delivered on time with tested builds. They were very friendly as well while working and on calls.

Well I think yes. Their development team understood our business idea within a single meeting. Then their team prepared their understanding and shared with us. With a team of around 50 people and a presence in 8 cities including New Delhi, Chandigarh, Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Chennai, Hometurph offers 45-50 services which include healthcare, real estate, homecare, administrative, banking & insurance, errands, wedding & events service needs.

BrainMobi participated in the entire design and development of the app. We had several brainstorming sessions during the initial stages. The app was developed for both iOS and Android platform. We were in discussion with them to develop our next version of the app very soon.

BrainMobi provided us a strong team of business analysts who worked on the UX design and created several prototypes. The team built a rich data analysis platform by analysing user behaviour and marketing acquisition. UI designers helped us in creating elegant designs. iOS developers worked on the coding part and creating API’s whereas quality specialists tested the app several times for bugs and reports and make the app live on AppStore.

How did you get to meet the BrainMobi team and what led you to hiring them?

We were looking for app development companies in India, whom we can collaborate and constantly be in touch. We were finding companies over the internet - on social media platforms and other marketing portals. But as we can see that the mobile has reached its zenith so our web based system was unable to cater the growing needs of the consumers. Yes in initial stages we have to make them understand our complete business idea. But in 2-3 meetings they have took over the project as a whole and led it to huge success. We were really happy with the team management.

Introduce yourself and your company

My name's Keith Hupp and I am the CEO of TimeKeeper LLC. We are designing a mobile software application for organizations and communities that need tools for better facilitating a large network of peer-to-peer timebank exchanges.

What was your project about and to what scope was BrainMobi involved?

I was looking to hire a company to continue work on my existing Android app. In the past, working with a different company, I got charged for a lot of change requests – some of which should have been included in the overall scope of the project. At this stage, I was quite concerned with the budget.
I needed to transfer the Android application to another developer and have them start work to make a few changes, but some previous bugs were not completely fixed either. There were some missing pieces that needed to be worked on.

How did you meet BrainMobi and what lead you to hiring them?

I was searching on the AppFutura directory and I received a lot of bids. I even talked to some of the software developers I had met in the previous iteration of the project – which I developed through AppFutura.

It seemed BrainMobi understood the scope of the project. Other developers would send a very brief milestone plan that did not have all the aspects of the application. BrainMobi sent me over a very good milestone plan and they understood the need I had at that point.

How was there project management?

BrainMobi took my Android application and recoded some sections because it wasn't coded properly. They made those fixes for me and now we are 2-3 months away from launching the updated application.

I am still working with BrainMobi and I increased the scope of work in order to add some more features before launching. I am getting feedback every day from the Project Manager – a daily email stating what everybody is working on.

As far as time and budget goes, was everything as expected?

Everything is going great. The speed of development could be a little bit faster, but we have this continuous development cycle and I am getting feedback every day from the Project Manager – a daily email stating what everybody is working on.

I don't have a strict deadline. It is mainly about getting this app launched in the best condition.

How was their expertise? Did BrainMobi require any training?

No, I think that the Android developer is one of the best developers that I could have. I flew to India and met him and had some great conversations with him. He understood the project really well and he even explained some things to me about the project and the changes that he has made to make the app more efficient.

What is the best thing about BrainMobi?

They are always available and very responsive. I never have to wait more than a day to get a response, which is very helpful.

I am Daron Wright. My company name is Tech Konnections and what we do is we play as the middleman between getting work done overseas with clients in the US. It is not the easiest process with the time differential and whatnot, so we help clients by making them feel they are almost developing in-house.

What your project was about?

It was pretty much making an iOS and Android application, as well as admin panel that would be able to handle the platform that we were creating.

What the scope of work assigned to BrainMobi?

I gave BrainMobi the task of designing the application. I also gave them the task of pretty much doing all the development of the application. Their deliverables were builds on iTunes connect for every milestone that we would then review together prior to moving on to the next step.

How did you meet BrainMobi and why did you decide to hire them?

I knew the founder as a referral from another friend. When he told me he was starting BrainMobi, I thought it was worth giving them a shot. I knew the quality of his work from a development standpoint and, even though being the manager is different.

How was their project management?

It was pretty fantastic. I made more of the project management side of the business, which allowed it to flow very smoothly. Whenever there was a delay it wasn't necessarily their fault, it was more things like Apple having to approve something, so it was understandable.

Are you still working with BrainMobi?

I am gearing up to do that right now. I have a few people that have seen what we produced together and they are excited about the idea.

Was the time and budget of the project as expected?

The only surprise, as I said before, was Apple. We had tight deadlines and then they had a two-week approval process, which delayed things a bit.

What would you say is the best about BrainMobi?

The teamwork and the cohesiveness. There were a variety of people who I had to work with from back-end to front-end and to management, but it all worked pretty smoothly. Teamwork, unity or synergy would be the words I would use to describe the best things about Brainmobi.

Are there any areas you feel BrainMobi could improve on?

It is pretty hard to say. I would just say the size of their team. If they were larger, BrainMobi would be able to take on more projects. I did not want to pile up too many if they couldn't take them all.

Floyd is a professional networking app. Floyd runs on beacon technology where a user can connect his phone with the app to track and monitor respective activities. The platform also has messages, notifications and profiles.

We had given full leverage to the BrainMobi team to make their own decision and come up with the best. The team involvement was more than what we expected. They took over the responsibility to study the particular domain and implemented the best. Apart from development they also created prototypes and designs for some of the components and shared with me. We really appreciate their efforts and handwork.

The team was doing very good on social media channels and design portals. We contacted BrainMobi after seeing their design portfolio on Behance. We dropped a query and we got a positive response within 8 hours. They also gave us a good price quotation and timelines.
