Fabista
Client: Budget: $10,000 – $15,000 (USD)

Fabista is quite popular among people as over 25000 people are already registered with it. Keeping this in mind, Applify had to create a website that complemented well with the platform’s reputation. Applify also had to keep the design-centric theme.

The goal was to create a platform where users can seek and hire designers for work.

Applify analysed all popular websites in this category. From there, they were able to conclude which theme should be used.

The goal was to create a social-commerce website with a motive to contribute to the growth of society by cutting down the waste, managing resources, and establishing a sense of social responsibility among people.

User inputs were added to the average bid to ease out both admin side implementation and choosing a winner.

How did you get to meet the Applify team and what led you to hiring them?

They took my attention through one of the display ads. The ad made me click on it which landed me on their website. I eyed their website and the success stories section. After having a look at their works, I contacted them. Their understanding towards my concept got me to have them work on my idea.

How was their project management?

I want to continue with the previous question on their involvement. They were easy going, I had not to worry about the design. They perceived my thoughts in a nice way as per my expectations. Their suggestions were likeable too.

INTERVIEWED BY APPFUTURA ON JUN 15, 2018

Please present yourself and your business.

My name is Sol and I am the Director of Brezaa app.

Explain what your project was about.

It is basically a dating app. It matches people based on personal interests in nearby places. I had the idea for it about two years ago and I did the designs myself. Then I got the designer to refine the designs, which took about 3-4 months before moving on to development.

Explain to what scope extend Applify was involved in your project.

I had my own design, but I wanted them to take it and build on it. The scope was to better my design and build and Android and iOS app. It has to be Native, I was very specific about how I wanted it. It had to be Android Studio and the latest Swift back at the time.

I gave them a scope based on different deliverables.

How did you get to meet the Applify team and what led you to hire them?

When it came to finding an actual developer it was really difficult. I found a developer that I thought could do it, paid upfront and didn’t get anything. I started looking for companies and I posted my requirements on PeoplePerHour and received over ninety proposals. Because I had had a bad experience with a freelancer before, I now wanted to focus on professional app development companies.

I went through a very intensive vetting period of about two months. I trimmed down the selection until I got down to Applify. I spoke to the directors and they were just very professional. They showed me the environment where my app would be developed, their offices, and the staff looked happy too. I was really impressed by how professional they were and their communication skills.

The director seemed genuine. A lot of people are just after the money. Their approach was more like: this is what we do, we can do this for you, this is how we work. They were showcasing their actual work and they gave a lot of breakdowns on how everything would work.

At that point, I did not trust anybody after my previous bad experience. They knew about it and I told them I was putting all my trust in them, but we had to have some strict conditions. They were happy to do that.

How was their project management?

There have been times in which we haven’t agreed on certain things, but that is going to happen in any job. The project manager updated me on a day-to-day basis. Very professional, absolutely incredible.

They’re really good. I am very specific about my app, it’s like my baby. Sometimes I can be a little bit tedious or over the top, but at the end of the day, it is my product. However, what I like about Applify is that not everything I told them to do, they’ve done. Sometimes they’d suggest an idea that turned out to be great. So, although I’m very strict about what I want to do, they would turn around and give their opinion. Sometimes we’d argue and they would give their reasons and I love that. Basically, they would give suggestions and ideas, because they were passionate about making this app look and feel as good as possible.

They are just very professional.

Was the project completed as expected? Were the time and the budget the same you agreed on?

I gave them the timelines and they said it was achievable. I had some issues I had to get sorted out and I made some changes and additions, so I pushed out my original timelines.

Did you find their expertise up to what you expected?

Generally, they exceeded my expectations. There were times when I was shocked. They’d send me builds to review and you see it going from paper to an app. It was better than I thought.

Please highlight the best things about Applify.

Communication, professionalism. They won’t just take what you say. If they think they can do it better, especially technically, they will tell you. They added value.

Is there anything you believe Applify could improve on?

I can’t think of anything.

My name is Mara Cornea and I am the co-founder of BACK YARD, a mobile application where users can share their venues by day or by the hour.

Explain what your project was about.

The project was about developing a mobile application where users can share any kind of space by day or by the hour.

Explain to what scope extend Applify was involved in your project.

We hired Applify to take care of the development and launch of our mobile application on the iTunes and Google Play app stores.

How did you get to meet the Applify team and what led you to hiring them?

We found Applify via web searches. We met one of the co-founders a few days later after having had the first chat on the phone. When we met, we understood that they were the kind of company we wanted to work with. They had the right approach to start-ups like ours and presented themselves as capable of understanding our needs from the beginning.

How was their project management?

We worked together step by step and they have behaved in a professional manner at all times.

Was the project completed as expected? Was the time and the budget the same you agreed on?

Yes, the project, its timing and budget were as pre-agreed at inception.

Did you find their expertise up to what you expected? Did they require any kind of training from your end to understand your product?

Absolutely. The team was able to communicate clearly throughout the project and this also meant we did not need any training.

Please highlight the best things of Applify.

The team at Applify is what makes it great. Professional and available to help at any stage, and in difficult times too.

Is there anything you believe Applify could improve on?

The only part to probably improve on is the ability to keep on the same page all the parties involved in the project but we never had big issues around this.

TUL
Client: Budget: more than $25,000 (USD)

Keeping track of all available tools and displaying their list on map was pretty challenging. We also had to make sure that users remain in constant touch with the lenders.

To help users lend or borrow repair kit and tools online within just a couple of taps.

We used real-time tracking for searching available users. Apart from this, messaging and calling option ensured that both lender and user could contact each other at any point of time.

PinkBook
Client: Budget: $10,000 – $15,000 (USD)

PinkBook is a women-centric app. Hence, we had to keep its theme and colour accordingly. Apart from this, we had to ensure that it covers all important aspects.

To create an app that will make the process of organising kitty parties a lot easy.

In order to select a unique theme for the app we carefully studied the elements of several women-centric apps that are available in the market. On this basis, we selected the pink-white theme that compliments with both the name and the audience of the app.

Nutritional Genomix
Client: Budget: $10,000 – $15,000 (USD)

Our main challenge was to keep the theme such that the website itself inspires people towards fitness.

To offer one-stop shop for all fitness enthusiasts where they can purchase supplement and gym equipment at reasonable rates.

We strictly kept the theme fitness-based, using images of fitness models and gym equipments. The website content was optimised accordingly.

I work at Nutrition Genomix. We are a gene testing company, we test your genetics for fitness, probability to catch diseases, etc.

Explain to what scope extend Applify was involved in your project.

They created a website and now they are making mobile apps to sale these tests online. They are working on automating the reports that the clients receive.

The website development was an introduction to the company. Now they are working on the entire e-commerce for us. We now do everything physically, so we are building an e-commerce paltform for the website and apps.

How did you get to meet the Applify team and what led you to hiring them?

I think it was Google. We shortlisted these guys, among others, and they were the ones that got the idea of making our business online. We don’t need to go to customers, but customers come to us now. Nobody else suggested that, this was the reason why we hired them.

How was their project management?

It was good, we had some problems at the beginning because we didn’t have clear requirements. but they worked really good after that, we are still working with them.

Yes. And by the end of the year they will send us the second project.

Did you find their expertise up to what you expected? Did they require any kind of training from your end to understand your product?

Better than we expected.

Please highlight the best things of Applify.

I think the best part it was the strategy they come with. We didn’t know about softwarte, so we went to them explaining what our startup does, and they came up with the idea to make the business online. It makes sense to us now, it changed the direction of our business. This is why we are a loyal customer.

Is there anything you believe Applify could improve on?

As a customer, we want things developed really quickly. They are sticking to the timelines, but we would want things done quicker.

NLGIC - National Life & General Insurance
Client: Budget: more than $25,000 (USD)

NLGIC is a big organisation in Oman and millions of people are associated with it. Our challenge was to synchronise their branding with the novelty of the mobile apps.

To offer a platform where people can buy or track insurance policies from their mobile or desktop.

In order to retain NLGIC’s old image, we used their branding color but with a modern touch to the interface. As a result, we were able to create an app and a website that looked unique but also had certain elements from their previous outlook.

The biggest challenge we faced was to ensure that the videos trainers have uploaded are of good quality so that users can watch them seamlessly while exercising.

To create an app that can help you achieve your fitness goals by exercising regularly at home.

We pre-set the video quality to auto within the app to ensure that users don’t have to experience buffering issues during video streaming.
