The platform is currently used in over 400 centers in several countries. They range from kindergartens to primary schools, secondary schools, vocational training courses and adult schools.

The platform has been in the process of developing a hybrid app for a while without the expected results. The app is available to download, but it would have to be completely redone again: a native iOS app and a native Android app - with a new design included. Hide full description

INTERVIEWED BY APPFUTURA ON JUN 20, 2017

    Introduce yourself and your business.

I am ignasi Nogués. I am CEO at ClickEdu, a platform for schools.

    What was your project about?

We had our full platform in a desktop version and a cross-platform app. We weren’t satisfied with the performance of the app, so we wanted to create native versions for iOS and Android.

What was the scope you assigned to Ready4S?

They had to remodel the app screens as far as usability goes and creating the native apps with the same functionalities we already had. These included: login, multi-user for different schools, calendar, timetable, messaging, student data overview and information on school activities. We also wanted push notifications for the messaging.

How did you meet Ready4S. What led you to hiring them over the other candidates?

    We met Ready4S on AppFutura.

We worked with a Project Manager to shortlist a few companies and Ready4S was part of the selection.

We met them via Skype and we liked their proposal so we decided to go with them.

    How was their project management?

Things got a little delayed, which we kind of expect anyway. Despite this, the project was handled quite well and developed as expected.

Was the budget and the time as agreed on? Were there any surprises?

Everything was quite as expected, except for a slight delay. The budget was respected 100%.

Was their expertise as you expected? Did they require any training?

They had to understand how the platform works, as it is more complex that it could appear initially. However, they had done similar work in the past, so everything went quite smoothly.

What would you say is the best about Ready4S?

Their technical team. Also the people handling the project, they worked hard to make sure we were happy with the end result.

On a day to day basis, they were very efficient in resolving any bugs.

Any areas you feel they could improve on?

They should study projects a little bit more accurately. When negotiating with them, we warned them that there were some aspects of our project that were more complex that they could anticipate.

Losing one day to understand why the client expresses a specific concern, might be good to avoid losing three in further steps steps.

INTERVIEWED BY APPFUTURA ON APR 13, 2017

Please present yourself, your business and your position

CEO of Canadian based tech company that provides travel and lifestyle management services to travellers.

Explain what your project was about

We required additional support in developing our digital platform and sought a company with a large talented team to work alongside our team.

Explain to what scope extend Ready4S was involved in your project

Ready4S was involved in working on our website and the development of our Android and iOS mobile applications.

How did you get to meet the Ready4S team and what led you to hiring them?

We were keen to find a company that offered the combination of talent and ability to work collaboratively with us on our project. We began searching online reviews, followed by an online interview, and lastly, we spoke to someone who previously worked for us and knew the company and highly recommended them for our project.

    How was their project management?

Ready4S worked on and managed the website and Android and iOS development with our designers and testers. In our opinion the project was well managed and met all budget and milestones.

Was the project completed as expected? Was the time and the budget the same you agreed on?

Over the course of the project several new features were added and incorporated into the project. We found they were very reasonable and worked to accommodate all our requests.

Did you find their expertise up to what you expected? Did they require any kind of training from your end to understand your product?

We had our Senior developer; UI/UX designer and software tester working on the project and everyone found them very knowledgeable, friendly to work with and ready to help at any time.

Please highlight the best things of Ready4S

They were very knowledgeable, helpful and kept to the timeline and budget. We found it was a pleasure working with them.

Is there anything you believe Ready4S could improve on?

    Nothing that comes to mind.

Is there anything else about your experience with Ready4S that you would like to share?

We were impressed with their collegial attitude. The consensus was the teams meshed well and we believe this lead to a great working environment and outcome.

    - As of the moment, the database we are using is mySQL and neo4j. But we plan to migrate all the data to neo4j.
    - We also have a REST Api, so the connection between mobile and core will be based on rest calls.

    III. Video Engine

    A. Video Editor
    - If possible, developed in C so that it can be used by both iOS and Android apps. (We are not sure if this is possible, this is based on some research. Kindly let me know what your opinion on this is.
    - General Specs of Video Editor:
    > Filters like Sepia, Grayscale, etc.
    > Caption Filter
    > Scribble on top of video
    > Watermark filters (We will provide the vectors for the watermark designs)
    > Our understanding is that any effect used for videos and images for mobile is technically just layering. Can you confirm this?
    > (Think of SnapChat's Video Editing feature as a reference. It has captions, filter, scribble, and geo-location based filters)

    B. Video Data Processor
    - I believe this will be coded in the native language of whatever platform will be used. Kindly confirm the assumption.
    - General specs of Video Data Processor
    > Video Playing (From DB)
    > Video Streaming / Buffering
    > Video Upload (From in-app camera feature much like snapchat and instagram)
    > Video Quality Resizing
    > (Transfer of data integrated with server via REST api) Hide full description

  • Is Augmented Reality going to overpower Virtual Reality?Off-Topic

Ready4S: It doesn't surprise me at all, I am also much more in favor of AR than VR. Why? Maybe because I've never tried VR devices (and many people didn't as well) BUT I am familiar with AR, thanks to Pokemon Go. I am just afraid that VR kit will remain so rarely available and expensive for a very long time - when AR will be constantly developed and tested by the real users.
