Artur Buyukyan, CFO of PowerCode followed up with us after his first interview on our blog last December (Top app development companies interview: Powercode). Artur gave us a little update on how his company is doing and how they see the mobile market going.

Without further ado, let’s see what Artur and Powercode had to say in this 2018:

Your last interview was published in December, 2017. What great apps has PowerCode been working on since then?

We have been working on numerous apps since then. They all differ from one another significantly, starting with the industry the business operates in and ending with customer’s requirements. The apps we’ve developed include the ones for artificial intelligence service, traveling, healthcare, music, and even the app for the best businessmen club in Ukraine. Diversity is what we all like about our job, and we are happy to realize we can easily cope with any idea.

Which mobile app has been the biggest development challenge for your app development firm?

It was the above mentioned app for the best businessmen club in Ukraine. The biggest challenge about it was the lack of details on how the end product should work and look like. The company has very busy schedule, and thus completely relied on us in terms of app’s logic and user flow. While on the one hand we were very pleased with such trust, on the other hand we still had to keep in with our customer though many of the issues depended on personal tastes. Fortunately, our team never gives up. We went to considerable lengths and met the client’s expectations.

What do you think will be the biggest smartphone release this year?

Hard to decide between two most anticipated smartphones: a larger version of iPhone X and Samsung Galaxy X. While the release of iPhone X is planned for this fall, Samsung Galaxy X is still up in the air, but hopefully it will appear on the market at least in 2019. Samsung Galaxy X seems to be an interesting device to come because it will be a real innovation not copied from other brands. I would eagerly try this phone and consider its bending feature something unique. I guess everything is clear regarding a larger version of iPhone X - iPhone is always an endearing product awaited by consumers worldwide, especially such a huge one.

Besides smartphones, what mobile device do you think is worth having first?

Phablet I guess because it unites the best features of a smartphone and a tablet.

What new has 2018 brought to the mobile market? What are the new challenges for companies like PowerCode?

Most statistics show that average mobile page speed is not increasing. As well as any other development company, we have to do our best to never become a service that develops mobile apps of average speed because speed is one of the key factors influencing revenue. Law speed leads to high bounce rates and poor conversions. Another issue is that more conversions still occur on a desktop despite the fact that users still spend much more time on mobile. We all need to think on how to deal with this issue and improve the current situation.

Mobile apps evolve too, their features change depending on the device used. What kind of app has a greater future ahead?

Definitely an adaptive type of app because it’s never enough just to adapt the size to fit the screen. Of course, creating responsive mobile design is faster and cheaper, but it also has a huge scope of disadvantages. In general, that’s how it is. However, even such issues depend on the app’s goals, and for some apps even responsive design type is enough.

Is PowerCode adapting to new technologies and devices coming along? How?

Surely, we’re constantly evolving because there is no other way to survive in the world of high technology. We do researches and are in tune with innovations because that is interesting for us and that's what makes us competitive.

What advice would you give to anyone with an app idea who didn’t know how to get started?

Just choose a reliable and experienced company and its team will do everything for you providing you with a product of high quality.
