App development companies are in constant evolution. We got a chance to catch up with the people at Messapps, after interviewing them back in 2015 and in 2016. Their CEO, Vasily Malyshev, got back to us with very interesting insights on the company and the mobile world.
Let’s see what Messapps has been up to:
Your last interview was published in June, 2016. What great apps has Messapps been working on since then?
A lot! We’ve seen a real shift towards more apps that utilize AR and Machine Learning. Another popular category is social networking apps. Our favorite here is Throwback. Lastly, one of the most successful products we’ve built recently is an app called Reefill that gives you unlimited access to clean, cold, filtered in 100 locations in New York.
Which mobile app has been the biggest development challenge for your app development firm?
It was probably RunOn. This apps tracks your heart rate and based on that will change the plot of the stories that you will be told while running. This is amazing!
What do you think will be the biggest smartphone release this year?
Any given year it’s pretty much the same as far as we see it. iPhone of course!
Besides smartphones, what mobile device do you think is worth having first?
Watches. Definitely becomes a necessity rather than an accessory. Having notifications right on your wrist without the need to find and pull out your phone is super convenient.
How has the mobile market evolved since our first interview in 2015?
Grew and became more competitive. We see that now people put much more thought in their projects. Less calculator apps and more smart apps that utilize AI to achieve their primary goals.
Mobile apps evolve too, their features change depending on the device used. What kind of app has a greater future ahead?
Games will always be at the forefront. Interestingly, despite us being dominated with social media this field became so competitive that it’s hard to see more quality apps appearing there. So my vote would for apps that connect digital world with physical. Those that allow you to buy or order something, find something on the streets, etc. And AR could play a huge role here.
Is Messapps adapting to new technologies and devices coming along? How?
Absolutely. As part of the continuous learning program all of our developers go through courses that teach them the newest technologies like machine learning and AR. After learning is done they work on a coupe of test projects for our own company and then ready to implement their skills on apps for clients.
What advice would you give to anyone with an app idea who didn’t know how to get started?
First of all, talk with a professional agency such as ours. First consultation is always free and you will learn more much more in 30 minute than you can in any other way. Second, start with flowchart of your main user movement. This will be the outline of your future product.
How has AppFutura helped you?
AppFutura was always great in notifying us about new projects and promoting great articles that we wrote.
