Top app development companies interview: Aafilogic Infotech Pvt Ltd

Today we are speaking to Abdul Sarif, CEO at Aafilogic Infotech Pvt Ltd since 2017. The company is located in Delhi and, right now, Aafilogic Infotech Pvt Ltd has 40 employees.

What does your mobile app development company do?

Our company specializes in developing state of the art mobile applications that cater both Android and iOS devices with the main concept behind development being to ensure maximum end user penetration, which is ensured by our developers being in continuous touch with clients and respective end users of the app during the entire product development phase till the end of delivery cycle i.e. the app going live.

We make this happen by making it a habit that our talent pool of developers is apprised of new technologies available in the market and with the customer expectations from the app all in real time.

Moreover our customer care team is in regular touch using latest communication technologies like Skype, Base camp and Zoho to ensure that any relevant end user / client feedback that could make app more better and approachable could be incorporated in the app in real time like if any bug is reported than our company has a defined set of timelines to ensure that the necessary action is taken without any delay, as time is money. This approach is considered critical especially in case of apps providing banking services.

What clients have you worked for?

a) World Block Chain Organization :

About the Client: This is an organization that operates with a motive to make digital currency a global concept i.e. no more a single currency shall have an arbitrary control over the way world does business.

b) GIIMS : Global Institute of Integral Management Studies :

About the Client: This is a Management School with the main campus in Cochin in God’s Own Country Kerala that offers various Undergraduate & Post Undergraduate Management Programmes.

c) Cinderella: It is a mobile app to book a makeup session as per you need.

If you had to choose one category, what kind of app do you think is your mobile app development company’s specialty? Give us some examples.

Our main areas of specialization are apps that facilitate IoT. In other words we as a Software Development Company aim to use mobile app development in alignment with all latest modes of communication used throughout the world to contribute to economic growth of India and World as a whole. Like 4 Walls is our in-house app that aims to help tenant and landlord close the deal in real time without any delay.

What is the average budget of the mobile apps you develop?

10-15K USD

Do you develop all mobile apps in-house or do you outsource some parts of the process? Tell us the Pros and Cons

We complete the entire SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) in-house.

a) Requirement gathering and analysis: We involve both the client and end user in determining the expectations from app.

b) Design: Designs are prepared by a dedicated team of professionals with client being in the loop in the process.

c) Coding: Programmers do the coding.

d) Testing: After coding is done and designs are incorporated the product is tested in-house.

e) Deployment: After testing is successful, product is handed over to the client for deployment.

f) Maintenance: Post successful deployment regular maintenance is needed so as to ensure smooth operation.

Pros of In-House Development:

a) Immediate redressal of any complaint / issue that may arise unexpectedly as entire pool of resource used in SDLC is in-house and available at our behest round the clock.

b) Better Control over resources involved in SDLC results in a cost effective and time bound product delivery.

Cons of Outsourcing:

a) Lack of clarity in communication can result in delays in SDLC and eventually product delivery and thereby increasing pricing of the end product.

b) As several layers of people are involved in SDLC so time bound redressal of any issues arising post and pre SDLC always remains a challenge to the organization.

Which would you say are the best mobile apps that your company has developed and why? The ones you feel are your best work or have a bigger influence on the users.

Marbel is our best app. It is designed keeping in mind the motive to provide end user an experience of VR (Virtual Reality) without the need of purchase of any additional hardware. The user has to just download this app and he / she can click the photo of the place which he / she wishes to keep in background and then he can do whatever with that background image. The limit is only his / her imagination.

For Example: You wish to have a picture with Royal Bengal Tiger sitting beside you then go to National Zoological Park, Delhi. Click the pic of the tiger set it as a background pic in the app and then take your pic and paste it alongside the tiger, that’s it, the job’s done.

In just few seconds you can do whatever we want with the background of your choice with just few clicks.

Do you prefer to build mobile apps with native, hybrid or web languages? Why?

We prefer to build apps using native languages as they consume fewer resources from the user hardware which results in faster processing i.e. the app can easily operate on a cheaper phone with fewer resources to spare. As a result an app could easily turn phone into an investment.

For Example:

a) Banking apps that are meant to drastically reduce customer need for an ATM, branch visits and POS points at merchant locations. Using these apps money can travel in the digital world securely, making paper based currency increasingly irrelevant. This kind of revolutionary concept can help bring down operating costs of delivering essential public services drastically.

b) IoT (Internet of Things) is another revolutionary concept that aims to use Internet to make our life easier. Like AC’s which can be controlled from any location around the world with just an internet connected mobile in hand.

Let’s focus on iOS and Android mobile app development. Which are the Pros and Cons of each platform?

Android Pros

  • Open Source Platform i.e. everything is free.
  • Unlimited potential to develop apps, you just need an operating idea behind the Android app along with an Android developer, rest goes on and on...
  • Maximum Interoperability: Being a free software package it has the maximum number of supported devices spread throughout the world.
  • Future of the Mobile O/S : It has the potential for being O/S for new space age mobile devices to be used in space navigation and communication as its basic operating concept ensures freedom for all.
  • Android phones have gone above dual sim, so no need to carry two phones where one operator has signal issues.

Android Cons

  • Being almost free makes it an easy target for anti-social elements like those using it for spreading spam ware and virus.

iOS Pros

  • A closed SDLC ensures that there have been almost no cases of reported spam ware and virus cases. Even Department of Defense, US has issued a mandate for all its officials to use Apple Devices for official communication, without any compromise.

iOS Cons

  • Apple devices are not cost sensitive to third world countries that’s why major share of its sales comes from developed countries like USA and Australia, as a result it loses on revenue from major share of world population.
  • Closed Platform: As iOS penetration is very limited so developers shy away from this platform as expected revenue figures from new iOS applications are rarely met.
  • Limited Interoperability: Apple Devices suffer from limited interoperability as they can rarely operate in third world country, where Android penetration is very high.
  • iOS devices are still unable to provide dual sim facility as a result most iOS users in the metros carry more than one phone to tackle the poor signal issue.

Which one will evolve more within the next 5 years?

Both have equal potential to evolve in the coming future with pros and cons of each overtaking each other.

Which device is the best in the market right now? The one you feel is a must have and why.

Android based device is the best bargain for one to make, be it anywhere in the world.

a) Unlimited choice of Android devices that are spread across a diverse price range.

b) Being an open source platform there are plethora of opportunities to experiment with your Android device with apps available on Google Play store.

And which device do you feel more comfortable developing an app for? Why?

Our comfort zone is both Android and iOS as our clientele comes from countries like US & India that have good amount of penetration for Apple & Android devices respectively. So with a substantial amount of work delivered for both platforms till date we feel no difference whether we are developing an iOS app or Android app.
