Pratik Mistry joined Radixweb in 2005 and he is the Vice President – Business Development. Founded in 2000 by Mr. Divyesh Patel & Mr. Dharmesh Acharya, Radixweb has more than 500 employees.

With offices in India, United States, Canada, Australia, Morocco, and Denmark, here is what Pratik Mistry has to say about the company and the mobile world.

Tell us a little bit about your previous work:
I have been passionate about web technologies since the beginning of my career. When I joined Radixweb, I was just a programmer. I kept learning from the open-source LAMP stack to Microsoft ASP.Net, and developed some very successful applications for our clients. And, it gives me immense satisfaction seeing those web applications grow from start-ups to multi-million companies serving across the world.

Over the past 16 years that I’ve spent with Radixweb, from a developer to an IT business consultant, I have had the chance to lead the overall business operations. My experience incorporates understanding business requirements, helping clients choose the right technology, and pitching our administrations to executives for enterprises worldwide in order to get clients ready while ensuring a pleasant experience throughout the project lifecycle.

Besides this, I've been consistently following innovative patterns and improvements in the mobile development environment in order to come up with relevant and data-rich articles for our company.

What does your mobile app development company do?
Radixweb is a leading and pioneer Mobile App Development Service Provider, backed by 60+ App Developers with great technical expertise and industry knowledge. Our experienced developers aim to deliver high-performance and scalable applications to various industry verticals, ranging from small to large enterprises. As a versatile mobile app development company, Radixweb has a very impressive portfolio for both tablet and smartphone applications.

Our core focus in developing business applications comes as an extension to the enterprise web portals. We are passionate about delivering each project with the same consistency regardless of its cost or size.

Our curiosity for technology and passion for work is probably the main reason which keeps us ahead of the curve. We work in the most relevant and emerging industries, including Healthcare, Insurance, Audit and Compliance, Printing, Ecommerce, Bidding and Auction, Finance, Travel and Tourism, Video Streaming, Learning Apps, EdTech, LegalTech, and many more.

The key differentiator of working with our organization, Radixweb, is that we work as a consultant with our customers rather than just a coder/development partner. We have a strong team of people who gets into the depth of the business and then suggest the innovative solution approach that leads to successful project implementation.

What clients have you worked for?
If I talk about our clients, we actually don’t segregate them based on their financial evaluation, industry, or team size. For us, every client is important, and we offer high-quality services even to the smallest projects. Although due to Non-disclosure Agreements, we are bound to reveal their name or projects. But, we can say that, Radixweb has worked with many clients from different industry verticals, such as Healthcare, Education, On-demand, Insurance, eCommerce, Finance, Travel, Video Streaming, Printing, etc.

Our clients include Bose, Sodexo, Tesco, Penske, Dublin Airport Authorities, Largo Foods, etc.

If you had to choose one category, what kind of app do you think is your mobile app development company’s specialty?
Radixweb is industry agnostic and has worked in varied industries over the last two decades. We have developed many feature-rich and amazing mobile applications from Startups to Enterprise Fortune 500 companies.

Having a team of more than 60 mobile app developers, we are always keen when a new technology appears. We start making apps utilizing the new technology with deep research and develop it for our customers.

So, our expertise is not limited to just one technology, but all technologies in the market. Moreover, it will be quite difficult to identify a particular category as our specialty. As a custom development firm, we come across plenty of businesses from various industries, and they come up with unique concepts and innovations every time.

What is the average budget of the mobile apps you develop?
We have various business models for the project, starting from USD 5000 and depending on the app and the expertise it requires. However, it can go up to USD 1,500,000 for large-scale projects.

Again, I would like to mention that the budget solely depends on the project's types, requirements, and functionalities.

Do you develop all mobile apps in-house or do you outsource some parts of the process?
In-house only. The entire development process, from its planning, designing, development, testing, to deployment is carried out within the Organization.

The benefits you can leverage are as follow:

  • Timely project update, report, and status
  • Complete control over all the development phases
  • Prompt and effective communication via communication channels
  • Our clients always feel invited to visit our premises and meet us in person

Which would you say are the best mobile apps that your company has developed and why?
We have created some amazing and interesting mobile apps. We sign NDAs with our respected clients, so we are bound not to disclose their names or projects. However, you can go through our Case Studies and Success Stories section on our website to find out the best work we have done in the past.

Do you prefer to build mobile apps with native, hybrid or web languages?
We have a diversified team with great expertise in different technologies like Native (Swift, Kotlin), Flutter, React Native, Ionic, and Xamarin.

I believe that no particular technology is superior. It completely depends on the business domain of the project. That will help us decide if it will be best scalable in Native, Hybrid or Web languages. But if given a choice for a cross-platform, we will surely go for a new technology like Flutter.

The reasons are pretty straightforward:

  • Single codebase
  • Code reusability
  • Cost benefits
  • Smaller team size

Which one will evolve more within the next 5 years?
We may not be living on Mars or traveling to work in jet packs, but the next coming decade will undoubtedly offer many fascinating technical advancements. We have never lived in a time of faster and more transformative technology innovation.

As a solution provider, we believe there are some great innovations and technologies that will dominate the market, such as:

  • Machine learning + AI
  • Ambient Programming
  • Fuschia for Embedded Programming

Which device is the best in the market right now?
OnePlus – premium phones at an affordable rate.
Samsung S series and iPhone – for its security and privacy and the quality devices that they produce.

And which device do you feel more comfortable developing an app for?
For android:

  • We consider all devices having Android 5.0 for a strong user base.
  • We also use high-end devices, such as OnePlus, Samsung S and Note series.
  • Low-end devices: there are many in this segment.

For iOS:

  • Support for iOS 11 and above
  • iPhone S+ and above
  • Latest device and flagship phone: iPhone 13 pro

However, I feel that devices depend on the type of app we are developing, the audience we are targeting, and the demographics we are choosing.
