If you had to choose one category, what kind of app do you think is your mobile app development company’s specialty?
E-commerce app development has been our strength since that is a domain our team has deep expertise in. We have developed few apps in this domain with TataCliq being one of our biggest client with more than 10 Mn downloads
What is the average budget of the mobile apps you develop?
The budget generally depends upon the complexity of applications and vary with the kind of involvement. We have developed apps from a budget range of USD 5k to USD 1 Mn
Do you develop all mobile apps in-house or do you outsource some parts of the process?
All the work we do happens in-house. With in-house development, we have full control of deliveries and can ensure the quality much better with a faster turn around time. We do not outsource any part of the process and handle the entire project in-house. We follow an agile methodology and believe in client-focused delivery. Our in-house team is proficient and highly reliable in delivering end-to-end business solutions.
Which would you say are the best mobile apps that your company has developed and why?
TataCliq e-commerce and Luxury apps have been trending on play and App stores in the recent past and have more than 10 mn downloads which define the scale at which our team is capable of building applications
Do you prefer to build mobile apps with native, hybrid or web languages?
Generally, we recommend going with native apps as they provide a richer experience to end users and help us use native features like Bluetooth, camera, gyroscope, etc in a much finer manner. We recommend hybrid apps for apps that don't require much of native interactivity and are more B2B in nature where performance may not be a top priority.
Let’s focus on iOS and Android mobile app development. Which are the Pros and Cons of each platform?
Android platform provides more flexibility to developers as compared to iOS which is much-closed system and has its own limitation of the known spectrum of the target devices.
Android is an open-source development platform, where one can build and design game-changing apps. Android's usefulness has made it dominate the app market.
On the other hand, iOS though being more restrictive is much secure and easier to maintain given the limited set of iOS devices as compared to Android
Which one will evolve more within the next 5 years?
It is difficult to judge but the one which will be more flexible for developers and provides more integrations and libraries will emerge as the winner
Which device is the best in the market right now?
Both platforms are practically equally competent with regular updations and enhancement on both platform happening regularly. Also, both have been adopting the flexibility and features of each other to eat up the bigger pie of the market. Overall both more or less look a similar level and the choice boils down more to an individual level than feature or platform comparison level
And which device do you feel more comfortable developing an app for? Why?
Our teams are equally conversant in developing both Android & iOS apps and there has not been a significant advantage in terms of development on one platform over the other
Why is AppFutura useful to you?
