We interviewed the mobile app development company Indus Net back in May 2017, so we wanted to update their information with a new Follow Up interview here on AppFutura's blog.

Abhishek Rungta, Founder & CEO at Indus Net Technologies, worked as a sales agent for CitiBank related product "Loan Against Equity". It helped him learn the art of business. Later, he bumped onto the internet and felt it was his best bet. However, the experience he acquired during the stint has helped him to build-up what Indus Net Technologies is today.

Indus Net Technologies (INT.) has more than 750 employees. The app development company was founded in 1997 by himself and has offices in India, United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Singapore.

Your last interview was published in May 2017. What great apps have you been working on since then and what are your biggest plans for 2020?

Well, three years is a lot of time, Indus Net Technologies has developed several amazing apps over this time. We have worked with esteemed brands that have loved our works throughout. For us, it’s indeed a privilege to be the app development partner of these renowned brands:

  • Ciplamed: An App for Cipla providing real-time scientific information about drugs and medicines to the doctor community.
  • Dr.Batra's: A health app for patients of Dr.Batra’s, to get connected with nearby clinics, book doctor appointments, get health tips, do live-chat, and give real-time feedback.
  • IDBI Federal Life Insurance: The official mobile applications of IDBI Federal Life Insurance to help clients get their policy-related information on their fingertips
  • IndusInd Bank (Forex): It is the first online app by an Indian Bank to offer prepaid travel cards and wire transfer facility to any Indian resident customer.
  • CameraMatics Driver: The easy-to-use app that means less paperwork for the driver. It’s a one-stop address for vehicle inspection checklists, accident reporting, and document management.
  • CameraMatics Manager: It is the ultimate fleet risk management and compliance app! Used in partnership with a ProVision CameraMatics Cloud Plan or stand-alone to manage vehicle checks and accident reports.
  • Guulpay: This app is intended for both corporate and consumer to create a current EURO account. Send and request payments instantly. Shop, pay bills and spend your day to day money in your Guulpay account.
  • Hai: Get spot-on recommendations on new and relevant TV shows, movies, restaurants, books and more that are customized and curated just for you.
  • WOVO: It’s a communication app with your company directly and anonymously. Submit grievances, questions, suggestions, and opinions and stay abreast of the company’s updates.
  • FeetSizr: Get rid of shoe fitting issues when shopping online with exclusive FeetSizr ID. Simply scan the feet and you will get the perfect recommendation for your feet, every time.

If you had to choose one category, what kind of app you think is your mobile app development company’s specialty?

Our focus is always on developing responsive apps that fuel business growth. INT. believes in partnerships that also help other agencies grow and thrive. From that perspective, we would always prefer developing apps in the following categories.

  • Enterprise mobility
  • Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality
  • Integration of IoT
  • Surge of On-demand apps

Which app has been the biggest challenge for your app development company?

The development of Hai app has been one of the most challenging projects we have handled. They were looking to build a web app & an iOS app based upon their AI
recommendation algorithms but did not possess the requisite skill sets in-house.

However, INT managed to develop Hai’s strong intelligent recommendation engine. Hai is capable of analyzing consumer behavior through internet search history, visits and patterns and make personalized recommendations on the type of media content that would be ideal for consumption.

What would you say is the best device in the market right now?

Well, in 2020 it is OnePlus Nord, without any doubt. For current or former OnePlus owners, the Nord is an excellent opportunity to relive the OnePlus experience once again, even without burning a hole in their pockets. OnePlus Nord comes with the Snapdragon 765G that caters to the sub-premium rather than the flagship segment. Naturally, the OnePlus Nord does not fit the same cadre as the other recently launched Smartphone when it comes to performance and gaming.

Also, the e-sports partnership and features like OxygenOS, Work Life Balance are keeping Nord way ahead of competition from its peers.

What do you think will be the biggest Smartphone release in 2020 and why?

I think Oneplus' next release will again make it big with its next release Nord. For the last few years, I have been using One Plus and never thought of looking for any other brand. Nord is going to be a popular high-performance phone with gaming features within an affordable range.

Besides smartphones, what mobile device do you think is worth having first?

iPad Pro, Apple in March 2020 refreshed its iPad Pro lineup, introducing a faster A12Z Bionic processor, dual rear cameras, a new LiDAR scanner for improved augmented reality capabilities, improved audio, and an optional Magic Keyboard accessory that adds a trackpad to the iPad for the first time.

What do you think mobile devices will be able to do in the future that they don't do now?

Well, a lot is happening in the world of mobile nowadays. And, it’s really good to know that mobile phones are not merely a talking device, rather “talking over the phone” is one of those many features that a Smartphone offers you. It keeps you connected and let you do all those things that you could not even think of, barely 10 years ago. I believe in the coming years, smartphones will have

  • Holographic displays
  • Flexible frames
  • Eco-friendly features

What smartphone feature could you not live without?

There are many features, but if you want me to name it I will go for a High-performance processor, Long Battery backup, and a great display.

Is your mobile app development team adapting to the new technologies and devices coming along?

Absolutely. At INT. we believe learning never stops and following this idea we evolve every day. The mobile development team at INT. focus on monitoring the needs of the customer to understand what is really important for them and bring those features to the mobile app. The team can provide platform-agnostic solutions, where the developers build apps with iOS, Android, Windows Phone and also with hybrid technologies like Phonegap, Ionic framework, or Titanium.

What advice would you give to anyone with an app idea who didn't know how to get started?

A number of considerations come into play when you are all set to translate your app idea into reality. When settling on the decision among Android and iOS, think about a surrounding UI that you can convey explicitly to your application. It will further influence the scope and adaptability of an app.

Also, developing an application without understanding your target audience is like firing a shot in the dark. It is important to know your clients' requirements as your application’s success would simply depend on it.
