After half a year, we got back in touch with R. P. Singh, CEO of Seasia Infotech.

Your last interview was published on 2015. What great apps have you been working on since then and what are your biggest plans for next year?

We have been working on many cool projects during that time and we have successfully launched many new apps. Here are some iOS and Android mobile app references on which we had worked:

If you had to choose one category, what kind of app you think is Seasia’s specialty?

We have always tried to explore and establish ourselves in emerging technologies and at the same time mastering the current domains. We are specialized in mobile, web and gaming development. We have tons of experience in the following domains (not limited to):

  • iBeacon and IOT
  • Taxi, Fleet, Dispatching application
  • User behavior recording apps
  • SaaS platforms

Do you prefer to work with native language, hybrid or web?

As said, we always have been working on new technologies. During this process, we have gained ample experience in hybrid apps. Our preference would always be using native technologies as it gives a complete control of the app performance and response.

At the same time, if the client has some simple application or budget constraints, we do suggest using hybrid tools such as Xamarin or PhoneGap.

Which app has been the biggest challenge for Seasia?

No application that we have developed has been a challenge. Although there are sometimes difficulties in finding a solution now and then, which after brainstorming and research, we end up solving.

Last time we spoke, you said “I believe Samsung S6 is the highest rated phone in the market". A lot has happened since then. What would you say is the best now?

A lot of things changed, but it’s still hard to tell which one is better. Samsung has been innovating new devices and new specification and at the same time Apple is giving even better devices to their customers. This time, I am looking forward towards the release of iPhone 7 and new Macbook Pro 2016.

What do you think will be the biggest release in 2016 and why?

I would like to see how Virtual Reality takes the market. It’s really looking promising and has been a key area to explore.

Apart from it, wearable devices have a good scope. We have been working on wearable devices and have seen good results. Soon you will see apps developed by us using wearable devices.

Besides smartphones, what mobile device do you think is worth having first?

Well, wearables devices are getting good attention these days and for me, Android wear, wrist bands with sensors would be good to have. I want to keep myself in good shape.

What do you think mobile devices will be able to do in the future that they don’t do now?

Future belongs to sensors and making things automate without anyone having to worry about it. This could be anything, from paying online bills automatically, locating the car in a parking lot to switching the lights as it gets dark.

Sensors and third party devices will help a lot, for example wrist bands nowadays are detecting heart rate, temperature etc. Maybe in the future there is a tool which also tells sugar level and other blood composition which will be a huge help for users.

What smartphone feature could you not live without?

Email and calendar.

Is Seasia adapting to the new technologies and devices coming along?

We are constantly upgrading and working with new technologies which have potential to become big. Not only we are working on the newest things but are also devising and adopting smarter, efficient, standardized and robust techniques and tools to deliver products for the future.

What advice would you give to anyone with an app idea who didn’t know how to get started?

First of all they should research about the idea and mature it. They need to check the competition if any to give them a fair idea. Looking for some Editor choice apps on Play store/iTunes, which will give them a better idea of how the app would look like.

After that they should find an appropriate service provider that offers end to end solution like Seasia. They should avoid DIY or readymade scripts and reach a full-cycle software development provider. We would be glad to share our practical experience and come up with a solution which can really stand out.
