Jordan Frank is Digital Marketing Manager at Movintracks. The company, located in Barcelona, was created by a small, young team willing to take the risk of venturing in new technologies. Their software mainly features all proximity technologies that are transforming marketing as we know it. Here's what Jordan had to say about his company and the mobile world:
What is Movintracks?
We are a team of entrepreneurial spirits helping app developers add context to their apps via a beacon/NFC/geofencing manager.
What do you offer and why do you think AppFutura users can be interested in your service?
You can easily (and inexpensively!) make proximity campaigns and tools available to your clients with our SDK.
Which are the main mistakes made when marketing apps?
It is easy to be so proud of your app and focus on marketing the qualities versus the benefits. Marketers need to think why it is important emotionally to the end user instead of all the cool things you can do with it.
How has mobile marketing evolved in the last couple of years and where do you think it is headed to?
If content marketing is king, then context is the emperor as they say. Mobile marketers need to always be thinking about delivering value at the right time and place.
Now, let's discuss the mobile world a little bit: what do you think is the best mobile device in the market right now?
Is it too boring if I say the iPhone 6? I also think a lot about about the innovations in emerging markets with cheap quality smartphones (such as Mozilla’s phone) opening up a whole new audience of consumers for app developers to target.
What do you think will be the next big thing?
IoT data is already being used heavily by brands (GE, McDonalds, Starbucks, Virgin Airways, etc.). That will trickle down more and more to individual consumers via wearables and in home devices. Wearables are already big but more and more apps will be made with wearables as the primary target.
What smartphone feature could you not live without?
Instant access to checklists and calendars. My life is much more organised thanks to using a smartphone over a personal agenda (my handwriting is akin to that of a 7 year old).
Name the 5 apps you use the most on a daily basis.
Mailbox, Twitter, Podcasts (several hours of free education a day if I can!), Wunderlist, Evernote
