Andrés Ortega is the Founder and Creative Director of Noobware. The company, founded in 2010, employs 4 people and it is located in Madrid, Spain. Andrés worked at Freedom Factory and Zed Worldwide as a Game Designer and Q&A before starting his venture with Noobware. Here is what he had to say about his company and the mobile world:
What do you do?
We’re Noobware - a small team of like-minded people, with a fair amount of experience on various fronts. Our passion is to create innovative and unique gaming experiences which can take the shape of a gamification project displayed on a giant building façade, advergaming for major brands, an ad hoc game played inside a night club, or maybe just some pure unadulterated commuter fun for mobile platforms and web.
We come from different backgrounds, not only in terms of nationality but also in terms of work experience such as gaming, design, entertainment, media and advertising and we have completed projects for major brands all over the world.
We have the experience and the resources to handle the entire creative process in-house, all the way from conceiving early concepts through to delivering a finished product. In a nutshell, we create design driven interactive experiences across a broad range of platforms.
Which would you say are the best apps you have developed and why?
Cheese Please was our first game and also our first partnership with an internationally renowned publisher, Gamevil. The game excels in various fronts, graphically, level design, and in game mechanics . I recommend you download it and have a blast!
Which apps would you have loved to develop and why?
I really like game apps, is the kind of apps that I mostly consume. And in that regard, the game app that I have played the most, is Puzzle & Dragons. That would be the one I wished I would have developed.
Which are the 5 apps you use the most on a daily basis?
Games and Sports apps mostly. sometimes I use the calculator or the notepad!
Which mobile device is the best in the market right now?
If you want to generate more revenue by selling apps, iPhone (4s-5-5s-6...) for sure. If you want to download a huge amount of free games, then Android.
What kind of device/platform will be the next big thing?
Smartphone's are really like "you are what you app". So in that matter I really like the appstore ecosystem. Google Play is a mess right now.
Why is AppFutura useful to you?
It's a great and easy way to apply for jobs!
