Android Nougat, Algoworks

Finally, it is here. The sweetest release of Android, Nougat was officially released on August 22, 2016. Google’s latest update of its phone and tablet operating system,Android Nougat thoroughly refines that the company is now more than halfway through the alphabet with names from letter 14 to 26 being left.

So, with the help of one top mobile app development company Algoworks, let’s chew the Nougat and find out what kind of sweet treats does Google have in mind for its new mobile operating system.

Nougat speaks your language

Android N brings back your words to life with a new updated Android Nougat that comes with more than 1.500 emojis and more than 72 are new ones. Even the updated version of Android Nougat comes with the ability of using two or more languages at the same time.

Faster multi-tasking

Android Nougat has brought for its users to work in a multi-tasking way. You can now work in a multi-window view and quickly switch between apps. Double-tap the recent apps buttons to quickly switch and swap between the most recently used apps. While checking your Gmail you can look something in Chrome and copy the link and use the same in your Gmail by double-tapping. Go ahead and watch the movie while texting.

Enhanced UI and notifications

Another amazing enhancement in Android’s new version is the better and tweaked UI. It is very much evident in its notification menu. Users will now be able to quickly activate Wi-Fi and Bluetooth by using the instant control toggles while you swipe down from the top of screen.

Daydreamer VR

Handshake with Daydream. Daydream, Google’s new VR platform, has a set of VR headset and controller hardware standards incorporated with Android N. It aims at discovering and consuming VR content in a much easier and smoother way. Currently the compatibility is limited to selected handsets and it may be a chance for your handset not to run Daydream, but Google’s new 2016 Nexus phone users will be able to run Daydream. Survey says that in 2017, it is expected most of the new flagship phones will support daydream.

Clear all recent apps

Google also added a Clear All button to the recent apps list. Handy Clear all button which is added to the very top of your card stack clear ups the clutter and it informs Nougat that it can close the associated app processes. Using this button regularly you can allow switching between the most recent apps to a much easy navigable affair. While you close all your recent apps, a new icon gets displays that let you know that there are no recent items.

Customize your Android

Android Nougat has opened many new ways to personalize your Android device. Decide on how much data your device uses with Data Saver. Customize your notifications by using controls. Along with changing the size of the text on your device, you can now alter the size of icons also.

Security on top

Android is built with powerful layers of security and encryption in order to keep the data confidential. A feature like file-based encryption helps in encryption at file level hence protecting file for individual users level. Android Nougat offers direct boot therefore your device starts faster and apps run securely.

Wrapping Up

Android Nougat has ultimately packs in itself useful and nerdy features for its users and mobile app development companies. Nougat also adds some great features, including support for Unicode 9 which also opens the door for custom emojis, languages, fonts, and other similar content for developers.

Android app owners and developers have already started optimizing their apps to best match the new UI and platform. For example communication apps are already finding ways to leverage the new features that allow users to reply from the notification window itself. Design wise the difference in not that much. Nougat still conforms material design and its related transition elements and there are no groundbreaking frontend changes.

People now have more flexibility to customize their phones and mobile app development companies can try Nougat's newest features but unless your app specifically focuses on providing similar customizations, you don't have to worry much about changing business strategy.
