Read here AppFutura's new Business Case on mobile app development. This time we have interviewed Ready4S, one of the best mobile app development companies in Poland, one of their latest apps is Click Edu.
What was the first idea of the mobile app project?
Click Edu is an advanced information management platform for educational institutions. The platform is currently used in over 400 centers in several countries. They range from kindergartens to primary schools, secondary schools, vocational training courses and adult schools.
The platform provides several services: academic, administrative and financial management, access to digital books and free content, faculty, tutors and heads of studies management and others.
Our task was to develop a mobile app for iOS and Android platforms, complementary to the web app and also to prepare sufficient internal evaluation to solve existing platform problems.
How did the communication between your company and project owner look like?
As we had to create a mobile app that was compatible with already existing website, effective communication between us and clients’ developer team was crucial. We had to be in touch all the time because all changes in the webapp platform they were executing could affect the specifications and dependability of the mobile app we were developing. It was very important to be always updated.
In this project we used iterative Scrum model, so client was always updated and had a chance to see and accept all milestones.
How long did it take for your app development company to build the mobile app?
It took us about 2 weeks to create prototype and necessary specifications, and about 3 months to develop the app both for iOS and Android platforms.
What was the best and the worst thing about developing the app? How did you manage unexpected obstacles?
The great challange was to ensure the security of data, which we managed together with client’s developer team by creating special web service for communication.
What did your company learn from this project?
Certainly, we learned how good planning and communication with client’s development team can boost up an app idea and how keeping each other always updated can preserve from a lot of mistakes during the whole development process. The best lesson from this case is that when you establish synergy effect between two teams, the results can positively suprise you.
And finally, outsourcing may mean that your client is in another country and you only communicate online. Do the new technologies help to communicate fluently and efficiently with the client?
Our client is from Spain so we communicated with him through Skype, email and Trello tool. We worked in Agile Scrum metodology so every 1-2 weeks we gave our client a part of the app and he had a chance to test it, give us feedback, accept and then we moved to the another iteration.
