Remote work is quickly turning from a perk given to selected employees into a new corporate standard essential to hire and keep the brightest minds all around the world. Whether you’ve already converted to this movement or just thinking about starting your first remote team, there’s an event not to be missed: it’s designed to share the best practices and help you avoid common mistakes in this field.
In 2020 the world’s largest Remote Work Conference, Running Remote, will be organized for a third time to bring together thought leaders, founders, startups, tech companies, innovators and remote teams from around the world. More than 500 participants will exchange knowledge and ideas about every facet of running a remote business in a new location in the United States: Austin, Texas.
Running Remote was previously held on Bali -- a well-known paradise of all digital nomads -- for two years: in 2018 and 2019. This June 413 attendees from 46 countries mixed business with pleasure enjoying networking and making new partnerships for the two days just a few meters away from splendid Balinese beaches.
Team’s decision to move the event to the U.S. for 2020 has put it right in the epicenter of the growing movement: the U.S. is currently the largest market of remote work employers and Austin is the city with the largest number of remote workers in the U.S. Austin is also a rapidly growing tech center that has a noticeable academic community. The conference will take place right on the campus of the University of Texas of Austin, in the Etter-Harbin Alumni Center.
Not unlike the previous years you can expect the top industry leaders share their thoughts and experiences. One of them, Nomadic Matt, is a pioneer of remote work and the digital nomad movement who has traveled close to 100 countries and is New York Times best-selling author of How to Travel the World on $50 a Day. Furthermore, Lori McLeese, the Global Head of HR at Automattic Inc. will give insights on a company that has 1,146 employees in 72 countries, the people behind WordPress.com, WooCommerce, Tumblr, and more. Sara Sutton will also take stage again. She is the CEO/Founder of FlexJobs, an award-winning, innovative career website for telecommuting, flexible, freelance and part-time job listings. And there will be Andreas Klinger, the head of remote strategy of the leading platform for startups called AngelList.
Other speakers include Wade Foster, CEO of Zapier, Dan Martell, the leading coach of high-performing SaaS founders, Tara Vasdani, the Founder of Remote Law Canada, John Eckman, CEO of 10up, and Morgan Legge, Director of Operations at Convert.com.
