The MyeLane Advanced Ordering app is designed to allow a user to order and pay for goods in advance and have that order picked and/or prepared based on their arrival. Customers can order virtually anything in advance from coffee and latte’s to groceries, to beer and liquor or takeout and fast food.
The way it works is that after a user creates an order and taps the “I’m on my way” button the app uses GPS to calculate the consumer’s ETA in real time so that their order can be sent ahead to the merchant at just the right time while they are en-route. This “right time” is when the customer’s ETA matches the prescribed prep time for the goods on order.
Merchants create a menu or catalogue with items that consumers will find within the app where each item within that catalogue is assigned a “prep” time. This prep time is designated by the merchant as the time by which they need to prepare the item. At the time of checkout the user has alternate options to initiating the order by choosing “I’m on my way”. The user can choose to save the order for another time or they can choose to link the order to another MyeLane user. Linked accounts must be set up and approved by the respective MyeLane users beforehand and once that link is complete one user can create an order on their app then send it to another user’s account so that they can then select “I’m on my way” and pick up the order.
In the event a customer is closer to the location than the time it will take to prepare the order, the App will tell the user at the time of selecting “I’m on my way” the amount of time before they should leave.
